Time

Only 10 to go until the light turns green.
Until I wake up from this day dream.

Only nine to go until the light turns green,
When I get to find out if this militia is mean.

Only eight to go until the light turns green,
Oh crap it went early **** me.

The drop bay opens up to the clear skyline,
I see in the distance a drop ship erupt as tracers outline mine.

I hit the release latch and am blasted down,
The rockets fire and like a bullet I spin round and round.

The casing clears off at twenty two thousand feet,
My thrusters engage and a PPC comes to meet me.

I cuts into my torso and ruins my control,
Unless I can stop it ill break apart in this roll.

Lightening one angle and deepening the others,
My Mech fights back with increasing shudders.

Gravity pulls me down with an increasing hurry,
I shout and curse in my own hell bent fury.

Standard drop on a backwater world they said,
Minimal militia resistance the report read.

I finally regain positive spin in time for my final thrust,
As I key in the command for my legs to crouch.

I push the big red button and and the thrusters growl one last time,
Finally I meet the ground setting into a crouch with this Mech of mine.

I hope ill live to see that green light one more time.

Never been hunting for anything edible. Best I could do after shooting would be a meal of holey paper and some brass for garnish.
