I'm thinking the reason we dont have any new mech packs is because PGI is doing another time jump. New weps, equipment, mechs, ext.
Let hear it guys, what's your thoughts.

if they were planning to kill the game, i think its a little premature, id at least wait for mw5 to drop. especially since they are not receiving any more money from preorders. it makes little sense to shut off a funding source when you have little other money coming in. if mwo was not being profitable enough to keep around it would be dead already.

also with mw5 in crunch time its not unlikely that they had to pull the meckpack crew over to the other dev team to meet the deadline.
Not to mention it's going to take those stock Riflemen IICs a little longer than usual to deploy to us chumps that preordered them, on account of those 195 rated engines.

Skipping Mech Packs at this point implies a business model change. They are probably going to stop doing monthly mech packs, either shifting to quarterly (larger?) releases in some fashion. This may involve voting for which mech pack comes next or doing some sort of pre-order model.
I think the "discussions with MS about the license" component is likely relevant as well.

Nah, it's just Mechwarrior 5 crunch time. When you're cramming to get your essay done for tomorrow, you don't always have time to brush your teeth.

They've skipped two months, not one. Also consider that not all of those mechs even need new geometry (namely the Warhammer being a WHM-6D minus two hardpoints, the new Cat is just a combination of the K2 and C4).

I do too . I love MWO . I dont want to sound like THOSE people .
But the fact is if there is too few players and too little revenue , I imagine mechpacks would stop being created at least six months before the servers are shut down .
Another fact is all revenue will halt as soon as PGI makes this announcement so consumers will be kept in the dark until perhaps a month before they pull the plug .
I very very much hope there is a new mechpack announcement .

To level or not to level, that is the question !
I still have the two assaults from Xmas sitting there. I don't drive Assaults and took them out just to see how bad leveling new mechs is in today's MWO..............yuk. Just too painful and too long of an experience without PT......
I have two and cringe at the thought.
