Basically, Russ announced that MWO and mech packs are no longer sustaining PGI financially, and that MW5 is the future. Therefore, PGI is "committed" to fixing FP as much as it can over the next 3 to 5 months, but then everything essentially goes into maintenance mode with no new content. No new mech packs each month--only specialized mechs that fill a gap or are requested by the community, every so often. Everything hinges on MW5. If it succeeds, then MWO will survive for perhaps another three years. If not, then it's done.
And there may or may not be a Mechcon this year...it's too expensive, and the World Championship will no longer be held onsite in Vancouver, but conducted remotely (somehow) with winning teams logging in and playing from afar.
