I tried embedding images from imgur and it wouldn't take them so here is a link.

This is an image of Warthunder package on Humble Bundle.
MWO took its Steam exclusive packs down and only offers the Solaris 7 pack now.
While other games are finding different places to put products for sale PGI is actively removing existing things from places.
Anyone know an image site that this forum will accept? If it still takes imgur links then I don't know why it wouldn't take mine before.
PGI doesn't advertise (as far as I know), they expect everyone in the world to just come to them. They haven't run an alien ware arena or NXIC? promotion in ages. I'm sure they'll advertise MW5 for a bit but MWO is long over due for some ads.
As I said in another thread, a guy with almost no following on Youtube pranked another channel buy buying an ad that would play on that channel before the video that mimicked the video's style and if he could afford an ad on youtube why can't MWO drop some ads on some gaming Youtube accounts?
Hit up the Normal Boots guys, or the others that talk video games and have them do a spot on their show to 100,000s to millions of people or just buy some pre-roll ads, they don't even have to be Google Preferred.
Just 10 seconds of a still image of an Atlas firing a payload and then your web address is enough to at least get a few people to check out the game. I know I've seen dozens upon dozens of new mobile games advertising on these channels.
Put up a bundle for sale on Humble Bundle, it can just be in their store like this one. Put one up on Greenman Gaming or GamerGate or Fanatical. It'd have to be a Steam key for some of these sites but not all of them.
This up coming Dec 27th put up a free key on Humble bundle for the mechs that are going to be given away (if you can still afford to give mechs away).
Don't let this game die without giving it your all before the lights go out.

Events are actually a really bad return on investment. Most events lose money and even the big ones struggle to break even.

They'd rather throw a party for all their cult following and run useless tournaments than reach a wider audience.
Look how long it took to get even a hint of New Player Experience...
For the longest time all a new player had was a couple of stock mechs and failure so basically only the people who bought into the game were having fun.
But that is a tangent that I don't feel like exploring much further.
I just want Tina or someone to tell Russ that it'd be a good idea to take whatever money they have left and do tie in deals with MWO and MW5. Not just giving founders and pre-orders a mech or two and some MC but ads that tell you what exists and what is to come.
I have such a bad gut feeling that MW5 will be a joke of a game and we'll all be wishing we hadn't bought into the game or devoted so much time to it.

I got into MWO because my friend played MW2.
I don't know. Do they expect players to recruit new players? Member gets member? It may work like on myself, but the success rate is very low. It's not like players would actively promoting MWO to friends and families.
I think PGI should start promoting MWO, even just piggy backing MW5 promotion is better than nothing.

MWO has a terrible new player experience.
I'd much rather them take the money they would be spending on advertising and devote it to improving that aspect of the game. It's impossible to even get friends to play, because the game is so dense and unfriendly.

As much as any of us may have enjoyed this game, it was never, ever a finished product. I've played numerous betas with more polished, complete games than MWO has ever become. They haven't advertised because they never bothered to actually finish the game...

It's a lofty ideal to stay independent, but only those who can actually do it survive, and PGI isn't one of them. The rest go bust or tails between their legs go back to publishing houses. You sometimes need that cattle prod jabbing your back once in a while. Parents need to remind their kids about homework, coaches need to remind their players to drill. Look at Star Citizen, despite its immense crowdfunding success, it is also running aground and needed to find a private investor to inject more funds into the project. Without corporate to prod, Star Citizen devs are taking their own sweet time, "having a good time", but ultimately after 6 years, is still in Alpha.

If they had better recruitment bonuses, or an easier new player experience, I'd try to recruit people.
