This. This is what puts the -B over the top for me. Usually lights are the bane of assaults, but the -B eats up lights like nothing. LAA and JJ make it the king.

The DS is super powerful, but the -B is good everywhere against everything.

The -B has LAA, meaning it can move it's arms left and right as well as up and down? I didn't realize that. I have the -1 I believe.

My Madcat MkII - B stats all from quick play
831 matches
516/314 win loss record
908/508 KD ratio
523897 damage that's an average of 630 per game

not a bad mech for an average player

The Dakka mad cats is great at mid range trading, but the Warhammer 6R has best-in-class builds for multiple categories.

You've got the staple meta build with Gauss and ERML , the fast dps builds with AC/LB10s and mediums, and of course, the king of the 70 ton brawlers, the dual LB20 boomhammer.

Gas the clanners, join ismo, etc etc

Catapult K2 was first for the dual 20 and lbx.

I always liked the Mad Cat MKII. I do think it was a bit...odd that there needed to be so many different chassis named Mad Cat in BT instead of keeping the name tied to the original Timberwolf. Regardless though, it is a cool mech. This version highlighted seems especially deadly and nimble.

It is not called MadCat because it looks like a Walking Cat that is mad, with ears (Missile mounts).

Vaguely resembling a cross-over between the MAD Marauder and CAT Catapult series, the Timber Wolf was tagged with the Inner Sphere reporting name Mad Cat on first contact. The targeting computer on Phelan Kell's Wolfhound switched between MAD and CAT when trying to identify it; upon analyzing the data recording from Kell's 'Mech, Precentor Martial Anastasius Focht later officially designated it Mad Cat The Timber Wolf is vastly more powerful than either the Marauder or the Catapult. It uses its speed and firepower to engage an enemy at the range of its choosing. When first encountered by Inner Sphere forces the idea that a heavy 'Mech could move so swiftly while being as heavily armed and armored as the Timber Wolf was inconceivable. With its twelve tons of Ferro-Fibrous armor and arsenal that rivaled that of most assault 'Mechs of the era, it was completely alien to Inner Sphere military planners, commanders, and even the Precentor Martial of ComStar. Its technological secrets have since been reverse-engineered by the Inner Sphere."

Short. Inner Sphere will always call them Madcats, when in fact they are TimberWolfs by clans.

The DS is essentially free dps for the heat... how OP can miss that is beyond me...

Edit: Plus its an alpha strike and not splashing damage all over.

It's the only version I would pilot, if I piloted the big boys. Love that profile.

Those missile racks are even worse than the timberwolf.

Man I almost left the match as I didn't want to embarrass myself on youtube. We had 2 drop outs as it was.

I was running 2x RAC5's+(3xML,tag, 2xSRM6)+2xLRM10 on the KGC 000O(I know its not optimal but I enjoy it anyway)

From the video it looks like I was potato'ing but I was riding the heat thresh-hold(maxed skill-tree heat management) trying to fend off 3 guys poking and actually shut down near the Cyclops that Sean killed (saving me).
I'm glad to see he was gliding along while I was sweating and not getting very far for my efforts. Posted Image
