When I left the dev's were saying they would be no clan material on MWO , has that changed or are all these people just blowing smoke thinking the clans are going to be playable?
thanks!

If they stick to this timeline the clans won't even appear for over a year from now. But the way things are, they're too close to the beginning of the invasion not to include the clans. If they wanted to make a game that didn't involve the clans, they should have set it in the 3020s, before the massive lostech arms race. That era just makes so much more sense for this type of game. If anything I feel that the only reason to set the game a year before 3050 is so that the players can experience the clan invasion. I strongly suspect that if there are clans that they'll be player controlled. But nothing official on that yet. Just gotta wait and see.

What I have been hoping to try out ever since playing MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries in the 90s is to being able to actually take part in the Battle of Tukayyid. One day I will get my dream fulfilled!

My assumption is that there will be a way for Mercs/Lone Wolves/House-Loyalists to eventually acquire Clan 'Tech and pilot it, but I doubt you will need to be a "clanner" so to speak.

Frankly I doubt the clans will be AI if they do appear. They're too popular not to be player controlled.
They're too popular to be player controlled. They'd soon outnumber the IS guys because of all the casuals who only know their MadCats and Daishis. And what a storyline would that be ? ^^

I don't know about that. I think the community is fairly divided on preference for IS and Clan, but I do see where you're coming from. Um... just rush the Black Hawk-KU and Rakshasa into production. Problem solved!

Truthfully for ever clan pilot there needs to be 2 IS pilots. That's the only way it's gonna be fair-ish on the battlefield, either that or nerf them so bad that they are equal with the IS mechs.
Personally I don't have a problem with 3 lances of IS mechs going up against 5-6 clan mechs. In "fictional" reality that is probably the way it would be if not more IS mechs.
Just saying
