Update for FP LFG #3:
Next FP LFG Event will be August 7th at 9 PM EST (0100 UTC). Come join us!
mercstar.teamspeak3.com.

UPDATE for FP LFG #2:
I was just reminded that the R3 comp is the weekend of the 3rd. Rather then split the pop or delay any farther, the next FP LFG event is scheduled for Saturday, July 27th 2019 at 2000 UTC (3PM Central, 10PM Germany, 6AM AEST). With the earlier NA start, we can try to keep the ball rolling for long enough to allow our ANZAC friends to join on Sunday morning.

Hi All,

In light of recent changes to FP and in response to many posts here and in outreach complaining about the high barrier to entry for FP, MS is going to be holding FP LFG nights at least twice each month on off-peak nights in NA primetime. On these nights, we will open comms (mercstar.teamspeak3.com - no pw) to all comers and form groups with no more than 6 MS regulars. The groups will be filled from the LFG. Our intention is to provide a few nights each month where players new to FP (or whose units may not be actively dropping) can experience FP as intended - with a 12-man all of whom are on comms.

We believe that we can run at least two of these groups simultaneously and with the changes to FP, we can run one on each side of the conflict, if needed. We'd love it of other FP-regular units would join us in this effort.

Our priorities for these drops will be fun, then training, then winning - in that order. These will be low-salt drops. We welcome players of any skill level as long as they agree to the following conditions:
  • They will join comms on TeamSpeak or Discord
  • They will follow the calls to the best of their ability
  • They will bring mechs that are at least minimally optimized and they will bring trial mechs if they don’t have a viable build for the map/mode. These will be discussed prior to the drop – hence the need for joining on comms.
  • They will not criticize the builds, skillset, or play of any other player or behave in any way that is disruptive to the purpose of the drops.
  • Once the team drops, they will refrain from discussion of calls, tactics, positioning, etc, until after the match.
Repeated failure to meet any of these criteria will result in players being kicked from comms and the in-game group. We will provide feedback in a “gentle” manner – again the priorities are fun, training, and winning in that order. If a person – veteran or otherwise – feels that this is too difficult, they are welcome to drop on their own.

Here is link with more details for anyone that is interested:https://docs.google....dit?usp=sharing

The first MS FP LFG night will be on July 17, 2019. We should have a group or two up and running by 9 PM Eastern.

Again, MS teamspeak is mercstar.teamspeak3.com. Our unit homepage with some drop deck and build suggestions is http://mercstar.net. We also recommend that everyone, especially new FP players, take a look at https://grimmechs.isengrim.org/ for excellent build advice.

Great idea... A chance for newer players to experience another game mode provided by the developers. Get involved.. try it out... and decide afterwards if this is something you would enjoy pursuing.

As Jay knows, I will require exotic meats, and the finest $3 bottle of wine you can get.

Off-topic, I'm down to join. U know I used to help with your old event nights. Shoot me a dm on here or discord.

A wonderful initiative, and I hope you get lots of takers. I would have loved to have a go, but sadly timezones make it impossible. It'll be 1pm on a work day over here. Best of luck with it though.

Thanks for your comment, that sure has a lot to do with this thread that isn't discussing the LFG system at all.

Just a small comment for next night it could be great to have it on a Friday for exemple or maybe at 19 Pm eastern time to open it to a bit more wide population? (especially eu and I don't think it totally bloc pacific players)

It's still a good initiative and I hope it's going to work.

There was some consideration given to timing. We may run the next on a Saturday afternoon US time - which would be roughly 1900 UTC. Given that the objectives are fun, training, then winning - we felt that we may have more success in an off-peak time.

Nice initiative! Big thanks / tons of kudos for the effort ...

Since good news become better when shared and may even become amazing when shared on the right places, I would advice to
  • ask PGI / one of the forum-officials for a front-page placement on the website and twitter,
  • place the info into the steam-forums or other multipliers as well,
  • stream the events yourself or ask a popular streamer to do so,
  • [add constructive ideas here].
Wishin ye luck with yer efforts. Some folks tried "FFA-groups" before (like Bishop Six from the OSOS EU-time) but on a minor scale and without enough experienced people to back groups on each side of the conflict up with a decent amount if capable players. Gonna try to spread the word into the units I am in contact with: let's make MWO live another day!

Thanks! Good ideas here.

Hi All,

I confess that it makes me happy to see so much support for this idea from the existing FP community. I am still hoping to see more people whose names I haven't seen in FP join us. I'll be periodically bumping this thread and the one in the general discussion and on outreach. Please be sure to pass the word. Thanks!
