There are two kinds of people that play MMOs, those who want the social experience, and those who want the single player experience. Unfortunately most are the latter.
thats a completely different problem and soon to be rectified by mw5.
i could live without the social interaction and prefer to let the guns do the talking. when i want to say "everyone shoot this guy" i shoot the guy. when i want to say "there is an enemy over there", i shoot the enemy over there. and when i want to say "oh **** they are pushing hard", i usually spam the r button and pop a uav if i have one while shooting anything i can. you can use words, but that just distracts me from shooting things. someone wants to call it fine, i can work with that. hell ive even been known to call targets once in a blue moon when i get a good deal on blow/speed.
end of the day humans are better ai than ai is and i dont really expect mw5 to be anything more than a turkey shoot. but its going to draw off enough of a population to put a few more nails in the mwo coffin.
also this isnt an mmo, its an arena shooter. pgi tries to hide it under ui, but if it quacks like a duck...
i have no problem with mwo being an arena shooter. it would be better off with more arena shooter features than mmo features. move everything to custom games with a lobby browser and opens up a lot of options to diversify the game. "24/7 stock urban mechs solaris city!"
