It's been a while since I made a post of substance and without sarcasm or vitriol:

So, hopefully someone that is new or looking for guidance will take note and pay attention.

If I speak in VOIP it is rare and you will find that the "old guard" pilots tend not to say much and just play their game out. However the simple fact of the matter is that there are a fair few of us old-hands that know this game inside-out and when we call a move or counter-move it is probably a good idea to listen.

I know some of us are unknowns but if someone speaks up in VOIP, pay attention and follow the cal: you might just win.

Further to this, I am open to anyone looking for guidance on maps. Hooman nature is predictable and most QP games play out the same. So if you want some pointers throw me a DM.

"no I'm going to do what I want"

"no the top is a bad plan I'm going in the basement"

"hold locks please"

I often find my best games and plays are made when VOIP is muted and my microphone is hung up. QP comms are cancer.

The people who know what they're doing rarely bother drop call....

... but hey, if someone says something, you should definitely listen on the oft chance that they're not completely clueless.

Got it.

Most drop callers in qp land follow the type of drop calling as the one star sarge. They give a command than then that's it. Now when you get those ultra rare golden ticket drop callers that know how to drop call without insulting, using a demanding or demeaning tone, and correct the cats without sounding like a di then you can get a group to follow orders.

A good drop caller is as rare as experienced pugs with map awareness that act like the borg because of all the xp and react accordingly to the flow of battle.

Anytime I hear someone trying to shot call, I just mute them.

Unless I know for a fact they're not part of the potato tornado.

My favourite was the guy in lrm Supernova who when I questioned what the literal ****edy **** he was on about replied; 'dude I am the number one assault pilot on the leaderboard right now'

Looked him up and he certainly was in games played..... With .6 wlr and .34 kdr. Epic logic on this guy clearly had me beat.

What's the point of giving direction when half your team doesn't speak your language, and the half that does just does their own thing anyway? Not worth the effort.

Joking aside; PUG is one of the greats when it comes to drop calling in either QP or CW. As part of IDI, we used to regularly beat larger units with half a team of IDI regulars and the other half of pugs who were willing to listen and follow directions.

Listen and learn from players like PUG, MT Slayer, Sean etc. if you are lucky enough to drop with them . . . .

or Duncan Fisher. That dude makes even a one sided stomp against you entertaining.

I love it when people give those weird orders and make up odd plans. It doesn't always work but it sure is fun to try something that doesn't involve rotating around the same ol landmark for the millionth time.

Thanks to the MM, I’ve dropped with many of the better known players and learned (I hope, lol), a few things along the way. I’ve even tried calling drops in both qp and fp. Sometimes it goes well, other times not so much, but that’s pug life for ya.

Good hunting,

It's 2019 and people still insist on spreading out and capping in Conquest. It's depressing.

I don't mind trying something new, the trouble is so many players have the situational awareness of a blind rabbit that has gone into a foxes den looking for a carrot which also happens to be sitting under a hawks nest, yet they are happy as larry as they are so focused on getting that carrot.
