For me the mixing of direct and indirect fire lrms is a disaster. Being able to shoot over the king crab blocking the pass was a huge advantage in my highlander. Or being able to arc missles over the hill in front of me while maintaining line of sight to protect my center torso is greatly missed. Quite frankly if I wanted a direct fire weapon there's plenty of better options. Though what I'm actually disappointed in is the lack of interplay between different mech types in MWO today. Both direct and indirect fire have a place on the battlefield. As well as ams, narc, tag, stealth armor, ecm and honestly alot more Battletech items that didn't make it to MWO. Being able to coordinate all of this to your advantage should be the goal of any player. In my opinion, it is the lack of coordination structure within the game that is causing the most harm. For example, in quick play when experienced players "take command" on the ready screen it could allow them map access to coordinate a battle plan. The idea being that having an understanding of what the team is doing will allow players to use their builds more effectively to the benefit of the team. I'm sure all of you have ideas on how communication and coordination could be improved. It would be nice to see some actual coordination. As for the direct fire and indirect fire prejudices so prevalent on this board, get over it. There is no military on the planet that linear, think about it. How dumb would you be to field an army with only infantry or artillery not both.
