Just curious, it seems like Rotary Cannons have a shorter duration recently (last week or so). Was there a code change I missed? Or am I just imagining it?

I haven't heard anything about that change and the last patch notes didn't say anything about it or much else really.
The best way to resolve this issue however is to completely stop using rac's. Instead switch to AC's and UAC's.

I would use UACs if they were not so unreliable. Often they jamb, even on a first click (and I am using mechs that have 20-30% jamb chance reduction. But back to RACs. I guess the shorter duration till jamb on them is subjective.

RAC2s have a far longer time to jam than RAC5s
I haven't noticed a difference but maybe you switched from 2 to 5? or unlucky with jams?

I love it when my victims are running RACs, no need to convince them to stop

True, but I have to admit that RACs are pretty fun to use. Sometimes you wanna feel like Rambo and just hold down the trigger as you hose down some poor dude out in the open. It's about the feelings!

Well, RACs are good with hosing, but honestly you'd be better with landing most of your shots with a UAC battery than RACs to a moving target.
