Over the past 5 years, I have noticed a trend. Some mechs tend to get "hit" in the same place, more often than others. I thought I was crazy, but my Wolfhound ALWAYS gets hit and critted in the left arm. My Marauder 2C in the right torso and my Phoenix Hawk again in the left arm.

To test this theory, I moved my AC10 from the left arm to the right arm. I am now doing much more damage because my right arm doesn't seem to ever take a hit, no matter what angle to the fire I am.

When you NASCAR, you expose your left side more often. People always target the Marauder's right torso.

Some players try to learn and remember where to shoot a mech to best reduce it's effectiveness. So, as an example, you see a Hunchback, it is best to shoot the "hump" because that is where the majority of the mech's weapons are.

Essentially, you may notice some parts of a mech being hit more often because the enemy force is intentionally targeting that area when they shoot at you.

As for the occasional odd location hits, not sure. Maybe it is due to the way a you torso twist timing wise *shrug*

P.S. Some mechs might have a larger hitbox location for one side torso when compared to the other side torso, however it should occur in mechs like the Hunchback 4G where the right torso is obviously larger than the left due to the geometry of it's hump.

Also right handed people tend to shield with their left. So if your right handed that may be why the left arms are getting hit more than the right.

only mech this has ever really been bad is on the atlas. its hard to keep an ac20 on the thing. it usually goes away within the first few salvos. though ive never liked the atlas in any of the mechwarrior games. except living legends, those atlas was pretty badass.

no.. it's ...not Posted Image

typically run by lurmfarmers/lockleechers, all they need is a friendly shot to the back.
takes them HOURS trying to core you through the front, while you casually aim at their cockpit..
oh wait.. we're supposed to shoot the red ones..? Posted Image
