I can’t think of anything that would kill MechWarrior faster. It needs a big budget cable series to do it justice.

I think a movie would work better. A TV series would end up being too lore heavy. In a movie you have to streamline things, hypothetical plot time:

Quote

Generic planet A: Rookie Fed Suns fighting Lryan forces in a fresh hunchback, "oh noes we being defeated", buddy killed by Atlas. NOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Backwater planet B (city): Flash forward to that same Atlas/Hunchie, and lancemates, facing off against each other (battle damage used to indicate age of mechs), cue audio, "blah blah blah, diplomatic mission, no firing"

"With this we shall achieve peace. Wait, what's that?" BOOM! Diplomat died "You've double crossed us, we're outnumbered retreat" Pew pew pew.

"Wait they're not with the Lryans, who are they", "on noes, CLANS"! Theys invading!
Everyone gets shot-up/seperated

Surviving mechs meat up with local militia/resistance.
"We must team up against superior Clan-Tech to escape this world on dropship which is far away from us."

"I don't like you, you don't like me, we must work together" cue run-and-gun montage across city/planet to starport. Various lancemates die along the way.

Backwater planet (starport):

I must sacrifice my self so you can escape, Atlas squares off against Daishi as hunchie escapes on dropship.

Credits!

Michael Bay could write this tripe... and it would sell.

Meh, maybe if someone comes through and lightens some of the cultural references.

BT on the big screen in its current form would create backlash at a Ghost in the Shell level.

You don't have to look hard for Wile E Coyote. There are plenty of them in QP. Posted Image

I don't want famous mechwarriors. I want famous drop callers like:

Robin Williams
George Carlton
Mr Rogers
Stan and Ollie
Vincent Price
R Lee Ermy
Kevin Conway even if not doing the bat voice.
Popeye the Salior
Betty Boop
Mickey Mouse

So, we've Keanu in Cyberpunk, Mads Mikkelsen and Leah Seydoux in Deathstranding, Arnold as the T-800 in MK11. Any thoughts on who'd make for an excellent Mechwarrior or any character in BT?

Ron Perlman would make a good Mech Commander, I feel.

Early "I'm an actor" Bruce Willis, or late "Just film the back of my body double's head, I'm going home" Bruce Willis?

Imagine the Succession Wars made into a movie of 2 parts and directed by Tarantino? It'd be so different and so mental that it might just be brilliant.

Jeff Goldblum as Planetary Governor, so he may react like this when his planet just got invaded.
