Oh...Have to write for grade 6 level.
For example: When a team has the most "Ready" lit up before the drop, is going to win. They have more energy mindfully. Other team doesn't care. Just letting people know of this phenomenon. :-)

Yes, I know, I'm commenting on how absurd that is.
Protip; most people don't bother with the ready button because it doesn't ******* do anything.

Now there is no reason to use it at all as counter does it provided everyone connects.
Again your psychoanalysis over people pushing a button is way off and very, very silly.

AND the last player DOES manage to connect...
THEN the counter drops (or raises back to) 10s...
AT WHICH POINT that last player can reduce that last 10s counter by up to 10s !
But usually it takes him more then 10s to press the ready button, at which point the other 23 players wasted their time pressing their own ready button.
So there you have it : Up to 10S reduction !
But more usually 0s reduction, whether the last player does reconnect or not.
HOWEVER : Sometimes works in scout missions, and often works in Solaris, so don't remove it.
In QP and FP : Pressing the ready button reduces your waiting time by about ~1s (meaning the time it takes you to press it).

the ready button does do something, but its practically useless because its impossible to get 24 people to click on it, especially with the standard issue dc.

It is an observation, and I am not the only one who takes notice. Observe, have fun. ;-) Most of the time it is true about a team. In QP only.

You do realize they took out the functionality of the Ready button in year 2 I believe if not before. It simply puts a ready mark next to your name now. Its all about when players connect. Most of us older players don't press the button, including myself. Heck half the time I don't even vote for the map or the mode.

It's all superstition. Nothing more, nothing less.
Fact is, in Solaris, if all players are ready, it launches the game immediately.
Fact is, in QP, the ready button doesn't do jack to quicken the start of the game. Timer tics down while people are connecting to the lobby. When all are connected, the timer goes down to 10s and then launches the game.
People like patterns. They need patterns. And so they make patterns up to comfort their thoughts. But it's for naught.

As long as we don't take it as hard rule but as an statistic guideline I concur it does imply at least a higher win rate.
