Disconnect City

1. Before I even got to launch into the game, it got stuck on the loading screen and I had to alt+tab and then restart the game.
2. Figuring out how to rejoin from disconnect wasn't very straightforward.
3. I disconnected again.
4. reconnected, rejoined, found my first mech had been destroyed. On to the second. nope. I disconnect again.
5. On to my third.. oh wait, disconnect.
6. On to the last... nope. rejoins within 2 minutes don't get a reward. The match has ended.
All this after waiting quite a while, thanks.
Needless to say it was an incredibly frustrating experience.
Before any wiseguys tell me to get a better connection, just know that my connection is fine and I never had these problems with quickplay.
Maybe I should just stick to quickplay.
I'm not here to whine. I just want to leave this here for the record and hope that someone who can do something, if anything can be done about it, about it sees it.

Not sure how it may cause a disconnect, but if QP works fine, perhaps it can.
Also use the repair tool if you use portal, or integrity validation, if Steam, to check game files integrity for possible corruption.
Also, if you alt-tab often, use full windowed mode, not fullscreen.
And just in case, restart your PC and your modem or router.

Until you have more time in the game you should absolutely stick to quick play.

My system is running one of the newer processors and video cards out there. I have it on maximum and it doesn't even break a sweat. Played another faction play game earlier and it went fine, though we were scattered all over the map and eventually lost.

Can't be anything else as it's not the games issue or a mode issue.

Hmmm I somewhat don't believe that for a second.
Even on my 8700k/4.5ghz & RTX2080 I'm grinding along at 1440p with about 80-120fps...

If you're lucky, your ISP was having a transient routing issue to the NA lobby server. That happens to me a couple of times a year, when a cable gets cut, or a server along the route drops out. You need to Tracert from a command prompt to see what's happening.
The other thing to look for is high packet loss. What you described is what used to happen to me in 1 out of every 4 FP matches, a few of years ago. I eventually traced the problem to a server between my ISP and the MWO lobby server, that was dropping an unacceptably high number of packets.
MWO's netcode is not very tolerant of packet loss. Eg. if the lobby server sends "tell me what mech he's using" but your game client's response packet gets lost, the lobby just waits forever. (Competent programmers would write netcode which resends the last request after N seconds of no response. However, we're dealing with PGI here.)

Sounds like your having quite the, "disconnect" from mwo, ahem.
It may be your hard drive, as this one time, at mech camp, I had a similar issue. Like Ash, RTX2080 makes MWO run real pretty, but the M.2 drive I have now loads quick and seems to help a lot.
I played 6 quick play games in a row with no issue. Can't comment on faction play though, as I have a small drop deck. (Feel welcome to send me MC or donations, tee hee)
Hope this helps, and if not, just look to the sun, feel the warmth in your heart, and know that I am with you.

Because MWO is well coded and full-screen give quite a lot of crash and problems to a majority of players.
Full windowed mode helps a lot (and should not give you any issues if you have one of latest conf)

It will still occasionally crash, fullscreen window will stop it entirely. Thus I just do that. Having more than one monitor also means windowed saved a lotta issues.
