Miss the old days when the Atlas dominated.

Thinking of trying the Kraken. Anyone out there find that it performs consistently well with current gameplay?

If yes, what builds did you find successful?

Considering: AC20 + 2 X SNPPC + 2 X SRM6

Not the best assault now, but one of the best Atlases.

I played AC/20+2xMRM30+SLs, it works. On structured maps like Solaris City it tanks better than any other mech and melts faces just fine. For hills and slopes - avoid those.

AC20 velocity sucks.

Better off with HGauss/MRMs on Kraken. Way better build.

For the current "gameplay", also called noob nascar, 360 LE with AC20 and 2xMRM30.
The armor quirks for the Kraken are rediciules, +40 in the torso.

The King Crab is quite impressive, with a LE 360, MRM 100 and 2xMPL mounted above the cockpit. That´s 112 damage into the enemy as soon as you see him. Had a lot of fun with it, cause people in QP don´t expect a King Crab to play peek-a-boo. They usually wait for the King Crab to come over the hill, not to get 112 damage in the face while most of the King Crab is still behind the hill.

I consider AS7-D, AS7-RS and Kraken to be roughly equal (the best builds for those are +-identical). D-DC is a sidegrade with worse quirks, but it has ECM. For other variants worse durability quirks are not compensated by something as useful as ECM or really interesting hardpoint options.

For me the star of the pack is Revenant, Kraken is, yeah, good too.
