Looking into what it will take to get the Conquest win threshold to 1750. Let's aim high and scale back on this one if needed (like to the 1500 suggestion).

Conquest itself is being reduced heavily in game mode rotation effective immediately.

Thank you.

Update: Really appreciate the reduction of Conquest matches and impending ticket change, however, many FP players do want Siege to be at least one of the modes in every phase. So its Siege, Siege +, or Siege ++.

Many of us would also love if Counter Attack and Hold Territory were brought back.

Thanks again!

Siege is pretty good, the only downside is that the defenders generally have the advantage. Inexperienced players REALLY struggle with opening the gates on Boreal. This is the game mode that really scares new players away from FP.

Conquest is better. It just needs the ticket count bumped up to 1500. The frequency of conquest matches shouldn't be decreased. There's a reason comp uses conquest: it's the best, and most dynamic game mode.

Incursion would be great if the hitpoints of all the base structures was doubled.

Skirmish = worst game mode.

Assault is ok. Basically a better version of Skirmish.

Questions:
1. How does one gain rep as a mercenary now?
2. Would people be more amenable to increasing the instances of the attack/defend scenarios? (given that this is probably the only thing that would differentiate FP from QP aside from having more than just 1 mech.)

One question... Since there is no penalty to rescinding Loyalty to a faction, can we become Loyalists to Steiner, play in a Steiner vs Clan conflict and in the next conflict, pledge loyalty to Diamond Shark in a Shark vs Wolf conflict and still keep the Steiner LP intact so that we may one day pledge loyalty to them again and continue where we left off?

Another question.... after, in your case, maxing out your rep as a Merc, can you become a Loyalist? Posted Image

Lv 2 in Ghost Bear and Lv 1 in House Kurita now lol. Loyalist it is then. Now I only hope PGI doesn't change things around AGAIN(!!!) and we lose our progress or have to pay hefty fines when rescinding loyalties.

i dont see why mercs cant have the same cyclical rewards after completing the tree. mc for every drop would be nice. but im probibly going to go steiner loyalist after im done with merc, if that ever happens.

frankly i never liked the faction rep system. first of all its too grindy. you can get about 1% a day towards the maximum reward if you really put games in, and there were people in queue, and you play about 4 hours every day. but realistically considering the drop rate, that never happens except on weekends, so you might net 3-5% a week. meanwhile you get huge rewards for the normal run of the mill events pgi does, and these trees hark back to a time when pgi didnt give away so much free stuff. as a bribe to get people to play its not a very good one. feel like the whole thing should be ripped out and replaced with a different system.

i think they should all be replaced with cyclical rewards, like every 50-100k points you get some kind of reward. faction rep would also get replaced by faction rank, which dictates the standard payouts of the mode. each rank would give a 2.5% payout increase over the baseline, with mercs, which only have 10 ranks this would be 5%. breaking loyalty (even with mercs) means you start over. the factors would apply to cbill, xp, and rp/lp payouts. thus you can grind cyclic rewards faster while at a higher rank. ranking itself would have no rewards other than the payout increase. it would also be less grindy than current, maybe 5x faster to get to max rank. and the new loyalist payout rules would also factor in.

I get what you're saying but if they removed the grind, then MWO would basically end. The thing is, MWO doesn't have much in the way of actual content and nothing new is being created. What needs to be done is to ensure FW is as easy to access as possible for everyone but at the same time, should retain their interest. Maybe keep the grind but offer better rewards?

Then again, MWO is on life support. So, the sooner FW clicks with the community as a whole, the better it'll be for PGI.

im just saying the grind is a little disproportionate. take that 2500mc at the end of the merc tree that ive been working on for the better part of the last couple years (and that is currently stalled out because of bugs). i can make that in 2 months of normal events. there is acceptable grind and then there is unobtainium, especially in lieu of the fact that its so dead that you cant get enough games to make any meaningful progress.

Yep, absolutely. Keep the grind but make the rewards better.
