Also, why would you want it to fail? No ones is itching to pick up the MW headache of a franchise which means you'll likely have to wait another 10-20 years for another one to come * out if it fails.

Meanwhile gxp and cbills can be earned in game all the time and gsp during events now. And with the skill tree some players got a bunch of gsp and cbills from module refunds. Some players who play a lot have enough gsp/gxp/cbills that they haven't had to level up a mech through grind since the skill tree came out and probably won't ever since the game won't last forever. Plus leveling mechs only makes that mech better, its not like grinding 100 mechs to max level makes other mechs better. If you only play a few mechs you only need those few leveled.
Also I assume you meant you can now buy GSP since you could always pay to convert xp to gxp and buying cbills has been around for a long time. So not much has really changed.

People can't differentiate between Pay-to-Win and Pay-to-reduce-the-annoying-grind-we're-sorry-we-didn't-do-this-earlier.

Other wise I am currently still sitting with 245 GSP from the old skill system even after assigning all my historic xp and SP to my older mechs as well as grinding up newer ones since then. I like to play my mechs while skilling them up so that I can do fine tuning along the way for each one instead of relying on a handful of "pre-built" generic skill trees to play the mechs before even learning how they work best for me and my playstyle. Even more so since I run mostly Stock or Upgraded stock builds.

I am honestly interested in hearing how you think in any way this makes the game pay to win...but have no problem with some of the best variants of mechs being behind a paywall....

Celyth who has the best W/L ratio in the game (not including alts) must have like a billion GXP.

If i would still be playing i couldnt care less because it was part of the fun for me to play the mechs and master them but kudos to you PGI. By the way the 91 Skill points do alter the mech, just saying.

Honestly I won't mind selling GXP. It should have been done long ago.

Chances are high that there will be no steam version if epic release fails.
Also how can MWO be even remotely pay to win when you can purchase and outfit most top performing mechs with a new player's cadet bonus after playing just 20 or so matches? Even if you need several days or a couple weeks to fully level up said mech that's really fast to get your hands on highly competitive stuff. Skipping a few days of grind while running a mech that performs well even without any skill-nodes is never ever pay 2 win.
To win consistently you need only ONE good mech and some skill of cause. Every other use of cbills, mc and gxp is just for variety and pokemech, but you can't increase your performance with further investments.

Honestly, looking back at 7 years of MWO trainwreck I truly wish nobody picked the license rather than butcher the franchise like PGI did ...

And somehow you put yourself through this terrible ordeal of playing MWO for 7 years without anyone pointing a gun to your head. I am impressed by your resolve to endure self flagellation.
