I... Really like this event. It looks fun and interesting, with weapon rewards we've never seen before as a prize.

Well done in my opinion.

Nice, but does the fun and special part consist in this event featuring specific weapons instead of entire weapon types, or is there something more I’m missing?

I really wish the exact type of weapon wasn't a requirement, like, C-LRM 10. I would've much preferred C-LRM damage instead. Anyway, 3-d PT and 300 MC is what I'll be aiming for 'cause I won't be changing my mechs' loadout too much. If some of the weapons coincide with the requirements, great! Else, the PT and MC rewards are grand on their own.

Also, I'll keep bringing this up...

October FW Loot Bag event please! Posted Image

150 MS for 1 Loot Bag

or

500 Damage done for 1 Loot Bag

But not limited to 1 Loot Bag per match as FW matches take a while to complete.

I thought you guys had learned to stop putting up challenges that cannot be done with the trials mechs alone ?

Of the current crop of 16... there's no clan ER large laser option, no ER PPC options of either kind, no IS LB-10 or LB-20, no LRM 10 of either kind, and no IS gauss.option. Also none of either class of mechs that have SRM6s are using regular SRM6s... they all have artemis.

Essentially you've given us an event that nobody on trial mechs can achieve any challenges other than the match score ones.

So for every newcomer, the battleplan should be, finish the challenges, which you can finish with trial-mechs.

Get free c-bills from PGI for finishing that challenges.
With these c-bills from the challenges that you could achieve and the c-bills you got for normal playing and maybe the supply chaches, buy a normal Mech, best one with laser, missile and ballistic hardpoints, at best one Clan and one IS Mech.

I don't see a problem there.

The match score challenges are the only ones you can finish with trial mechs as they are currently (at the time of this writing) and the only payout from them are 300MC and 3 days of premium time. They don't pay out any c-bills.

Yeah, good point Date, but from PGI's point of view it may entice some players to put some coin into the coffers.

Very nice event with new kind of prizes.

Thanks Matt for finding a way to make things a little different from all die other events.

This. It seems rather up-front to me.

Having played less than a year, this is the most varied challenge I have experienced even with it's restrictions. If I choose to participate, then I'll need to tinker with builds and tweak my style.

You know, a challenge :P
