That had the mech.. I think it was called the Viper.

75 tons,

Couple large pulse lasers,
Couple med pulse
LOTS of small pulse
Targeting computer

My favorite clan mech, though there were many who hated it.

Mybe Clan Steel Viper LOL no idea might try doing a google search or use that battletech wiki site.....I did search really fast only found 2 Vipers...one is 40 ton clan mech http://www.sarna.net...per_(Dragonfly)

the others a 75 ton IS mech http://www.sarna.net..._Python_(Viper)

Sorry unless you talking about the IS mech you might have better luck serching you self LOL

Well, even I have a "derp" moment every so often.

So, then... the Black Python/"Viper" is manufactured at the New Kent Armor Works, located on New Kent - which happens to be the capital world for Clan Steel Viper (which owns the NKAW facility).

Yes, the Black Python is it.

You are thinking of the Black Python, a standard BattleMech only used by Clan Steel Viper. It is 75 tons, 86 kph top speed, 150m jump distance, 2x Large Pulse Lasers, 2x Medium Pulse Lasers, 4x Small Pulse Lasers, 2x Machine Guns w/ 1t of ammo, and a targeting computer. It is in the 3055 TRO.

The first time I tried that mech, I managed to jump behind my opponents assault mech (I don't think he realized it had jump jets) and take it out in one salvo.

He spent the rest of the game chasing it around the map trying to kill it. He finally managed to but I had wiped the rest of his forces out by then.

Steel viper is the clan I will choose if we ever get that chance

Strictly speaking, it isn't an exclusive 'Mech to any Clan. (In a pinch, you can use a Madcat/Timberwolf to get an almost exact duplicate payload and performance.)
