Lately there has been some debate in the past 3 weeks about making Tier 3 in under 5 matches.

• Many users have provided evidence to back up the fact you can do this.
  
• Some users are not accepting it.
  
• Some are claiming it's fake (and any other excuse under the sun).

I said in no uncertain terms that: It is 100% possible to make Tier 3 while a cadet. And you can make Tier 3 in less than 5 games.

I like to back up my statements with facts and evidence rather than just saying everyone is wrong - So I did just that, made it to Tier 3 in under 5 games.

And one last thing... Until making Tier 3, I did not see any players I knew from Tier 1 / Tier 2... So the stopgap is still in place.

Enjoy the MYTHBUSTING Video everyone. Was actually interesting to give it a shot. Soon as the T1 players/games started flowing - so did the mingbogglingly dumb NASCAR rotations... That was enough for me. Made it to Tier 3.5 in under 10 games, for those that want the cliff note.

# of players has nothing to do with it, just need a new account, not suck, and win.

Yeah, just make a few high match scores each round, and boom. Your on top. Unlike those who took years.

It's always been possible. As long as in your first say, 10 games you:

- Win at least 3 out of the first 5 matches.
- Win a further 6 out of the first 10 matches (total)
- Average at least 350 match score

You will make Tier 3. For an average player, getting 350 match score in Tier4/T5 matches is pretty easy. I was getting well north of that but the principle is the same as users in Tier 4/5 are only outputting 100 match score.

Easy to see how it works and the whole point of bonus/higher EXP during the first matches. To move players that are average or of above average skill, away from those that are super low skill.

It was always known that you can reach Tier 3 in 10 matches easily even not being a top tier player. I guess all you have proven is that a certain someone is clueless, but then again, we knew that already as well. Thats two hours of yer life wasted but at least you had fun.

Once I hit T3, matches no problem. Given everyone has "made it" to "Tier 1".

Honestly, I'm just impressed you can still find tier 5 matches at 3-4 AM PST on a weekday. That has to be the lowest point of the day for player population.

Its 10mins+ on average. Has been since Russ's MWO-Maintenance mode statement, it was almost instant increase TBH. Felt it big time.

Half the reason I don't bother playing QP on an evening mid-week anymore, 3-4 games an hour is... Bleh. Which just further cascades the problem really and I know many Oceanic in the same boat - cannot be helped once the dominoes are set in motion.

I don't write much on these forums, but I applaud you for taking time to conduct this experiment. Its nice to see people who spew nonsense get it rammed right down their gullet. Also it was an amusing watch. A genuine mix of amusement and pity at the demise of your opponents. Well done!

Let's be honest, when a certain someone is calling a disconnect exploiter a good player, you really want to bash them into mashed potatoes with gravy.

I've seen it done in 3 matches and heard it was possible to do in 2. That was years ago though, so good to know there hasn't been any changes.

Yes, you got filtered up and did not "earn" Tier 1.

It's just as unfair to you as it is to everyone else and it is one of the biggest reasons for the decline of this game.

Took miles longer than I expected because Oceanic is 10mins+ to find a match these days...

None the less it was amusing. The right mix, as always, of fun and horrified haha.


I cannot stand the spread of misinformation. There are 3 users in particular on this forum who engage in it on a daily basis. One even has a custom title from PGI because of the apparent "help" given to new users... Yet these poor new users are being horribly mislead by inaccurate and false statements - dunno how a company can knowingly get behind that.
