No.
It's a useful tool for spectators looking for a pilot to spectate.

I have never seen a SHC carry through the last few mechs.
But I have personally won a 3-4 v 1 in a FLE as the last person alive. But I don't spend the whole time fighting, I run long enough to spread people out so I can win 3-4 1v1s

How many times must it be said that it is not about protecting one's KDR? It's about making the enemy earn that last kill. <maniacal

Completely wrong special snowflake attitude. Last guy's live isn't worth more, than lives of other 11 guys. Because, you know, he isn't Rambo. If his team loses and game is already lost - he is the part of a reason, why it has happened. Because he hasn't supported them. So his life's value is 0. Not that super druper important, as he think. He just wastes time via using unfair speed advantage. He should read COC first. It's his responsibility to engage into combat, as winning team is allowed to preserve it's victory, but he isn't allowed to use starvation tactic. I.e. hiding somewhere on the map to waste time = non-participation.

Not to the last player.
How are the lives of 11 ALREADY DEAD PLAYERS more important than the life of one who is STILL ALIVE?

Better be dead, than coward. Good game is balance between playing too actively or too passively. You play too actively and die too early. You play too passively and you lose your potential. And if in 11 vs X situation I see player with full armor, hiding on the other side of the map, then I can definitely say, that he hasn't played this match effectively enough and it's a little bit too late to try to do it at that moment.
Some guys just play wrong game. MWO isn't stealth action. Surviving isn't it's goal. Even if you play Light 'Mech, you should engage into combat. More accurately, especially if you're Light 'Mech, as, let's face this sad fact, Lights have the most survivability and are the best brawlers in this game due to reversed balance.
