so i have just started programming VR stuff. come to find i got 2 options, either "unity" or "unreal engine". well, i chose unreal, and guess what i have to download???????????????????????

goddamn epic games launcher!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Didn't you know that unreal was from Epic? Unreal was pretty much the first thing that got a launcher from Epic that later turned into the Epic gamestore-launcher.

epic game launcher is awesome and so worth it. It makes skynet seem like the matrix. Everyone should get it then promptly take a hammer to their tower repeatedly. Or just run malware/antivirus programs 24/7 like real pc users do.

should have went with unity. or do what i did and write your own damn engine. its been 15 years and im am 20% done yay!

i remember the first unreal, that game was bloody beautiful for its day. full version came bundled with my voodoo card.

Writing your own engine, we did that in school and it was the time I learn that I will stay away from programming ^_^
As for the first Unreal game...I think that I also got mine with a Voodoo card.

i think i also got a full version of mechwarrior 2 in that bundle which is why im here.

my engine is kind of a hobby. few months ago i was playing with collision detection algorithms, with meh results. the programming itself is pretty easy, its the maths that get you. its no wonder game devs just rent an engine. but its one of the reasons i feel that games have stagnated in the last decade.
