Awww, the Catapult, a classic I never get tired of seeing. I love what they've done with the old girl too. Except for in that report, I don't think I've ever heard any put downs aimed at the catapult, especially once someone sees it in real action. It does it's job, and it does it well. Keep the 'mechs comin' guys!

Never before in my Mechwarrior days have I enjoyed piloting a Catapult. This one on the other hand...looks EPIC

Can this mech exceed the 64.8 km/h ground speed using the jump jets? If it can't, they seem pretty pointless unless MWO has more impassable obstacles than MW4.

The jets are very useable , for alpha head shots from above......(can u say night night)

I don't want to sound like a troll but in the past the Catapult's design always seemed like a hand-me-down from the MadCat.

However this new art design really makes the Catapult stand out and makes it look really *******'. I can't wait to pilot this thing!

The original Catapult's artwork was around a long time before the MadCat's, so if there was any handing down it would be from the Catapult to the MadCat.

It's no MadCat, but this is the closest one I can get for now. Looks like I'll be manning a Catapult! :)

Never a big fan of the catapult. Looks like a Mad Cat without arms.

I'd like some insight from the TT players here:

In previous MW games, if you got close to a Catapult, it's game over for him. In the TT game, wouldn't those 4 medium lasers give a bit of a beat-down to would-be assailants? I know in MWLL, it's not exactly going to help you fend off another heavy, but a pesky light will get a bit of a smack from it!

In my personal, and recent experience, yes, a catapult can lay down some pain on a light. And the jump jets make it excellent at keeping would be back attackers in front. It excels long to medium range, but is not bad up close. The armor is a problem though.

So whats up with us not seeing any gameplay from this mech, or the others with the exception of the Atlas, Hunchback, and Jenner?

good quetion... would like to see some 30LRM impacts ;)

next good question would be: will there be a CPLT-K2? Or is the engine not capable to change the model of the mech accourding to it's loadout? Would look messy, with ppc's firing from LRM-Packs ;)

I think what the devs do here is they release the mechs original model. They said they'd add in to the game after it was released. Thats probably when variants will come out.

Y'all Madcat fans do realize that the Madcat is not coming out for at least six months, if not a year? We're doing 3025 to 3049 tech.

As for the phrase "it looks like a Madcat with out arms," why do you think the first few IS targeting computers couldn't decide if it was a Marauder or a Catapult when they first encountered them?

The Catapult has only recently been added to the alpha engine and as such, there wasn't enough done to show at GDC. I'd bet dollars to doughnuts the next video we see shows at Atlas getting its face pounded in by those 30 LRMs.

The MechLab Dev blog answers this. Visual changes are made based on the mech's loadout. But because of the way the hardpoints are done in MW:O, I don't see the K2 coming out in the first three months after launch.

The Timber Wolf won't be out when MWO goes live?! Oh man! Are you kidding me?! If only there was some date some, I don't know... FAN of the chassis could put into his location to promote the possible earliest time this magnificent chassis will stride the battlefield.

Nonononono, it's the other way around!

The "Cat" in "Madcat" came from Catapult. Catapult came first.

No, the Timberwolf is just a Catapult with silly vestigial arms.

I like the Catapult, I always loved catching a jumper in mid flight with a full salvo of LRM's
