Coming back after some time off as I wanted to see how PGI will continue to develop this game.
What happened to community warfare? Why is that Teams still after all these years have to sync drop?
PGI what gives? As a founder I am seeing that this was never even really the case with you guys?
Did you guys straight up lie to us?

Mismanagement, a story as old as time.

But hey, at least you funded the next game, which you may even have the opportunity to play next month. For another $50, of course.

In an attempt at a serious answer to the OP:

There is no further development taking place as of Russ’s maintenance mode announcement back in June.

Community Warfare (now Faction Play) was to get Paul’s minimally viable makeover that Paul has been “working on” (when he wasn’t too tired) since last August and which as far as I can tell is pretty much done, but for some promised leaderboard tweeks.

Group Queue (I presume that that is what you are referring to by “teams”) is dead because of the dropping population, and its seeming precipitous rate of loss since the June announcement, and also I think to a small extent the slight increase in FP participation. For what it’s worth, you can still get GQ drops many nights, but especially on the weekends, at around 9:00PM Eastern. Groups of four or more and of even numbers seem to have the best shot at getting drops.

As to the last three of your questions, they seem rhetorical and fairly self-evident.

Well more like there was a huge amount of changes, for the worse. Most of which haven't been undone, unfortunately...

Then PGI entered in maintenance mode a few months ago, as EPIC paid them to deliver a product in time and that's what they're focusing on.

The true question is what happens after MW5 is delivered.

MW5 is a mediocre game with poor marketing and no long term sustainability. How do you think thats gonna go? :P

The real question is are we going to have to wait another 15 years for the next mechwarrior game?

how many ads have you seen for MW5 on places outside of this website?

I'm more aware of what's coming up for Donko Dongo no Momi Denkentestsuu Story Princess 7 on the Apple Watch or whatever generic Openworld Unity Asset Flip than I am of MW5.

i bet pgi is keeping mwo alive on gsp sales right now. lots of old grognards with huge mech inventories in various states of being leveled. blatantly preying on ocd completionists. but hey whatever keeps the servers up.

Russ Bollocks shoved his delusional dream of MWO becoming an E-sport down the communities throat and they all walked away. Now go play Solaris 7 and like it, dammit!

In the last AMA, we're told that the ads for MW5 would be in full swing from 1-2 weeks before the game's release.

Yes, I know.

I went to the EPIC Store site to see if they even had MW5 ads or suggestions on their front page. I had to dig and do a search to find anything about MW5 on their site. Im pretty sure Russ stated that EPIC games store would give them more exposure than Steam. He complained that they would fall off the Steam front page where they would not on EPIC store... They lied to him or his excuse didn't hold water for taking the money from EPIC.

I found something funnier...

Death Stranding on Steam = Summer 2020

Death Stranding on EGS = 1/1/2021

In World Of Tanks there's no QP or FP and the maximum group size is 3 players. A smart combination that guarantees you can invite two friends to come play a casual game, and that the MatchMaker is allowed to do it's job.

In MWO there's no group possible in QP, and FP groups can and do reach a full 12 hand-selected players. An unlucky combination that guarantees you can't invite two friends to discover MWO through Quick Play, and that the MatchMaker is prohibited from doing anything in Faction Play.

And sure enough, only one of those two games is a planetary success, and not by mistake.

Poor (nonexistent) marketing

If you had a majority of the playerbase trying to play with 1 other person the group que would not be dead. So players that want to group with one other player are in the minority, quit with the "let use group up in Quick Play" suggestions. At this point and time with the game in Maintenance mode, its not going to happen nor should it.

My suggestion is :
- Allow groups of 2-3 in QP, to allow MWO players to introduce their friends with their trial mechs to MWO.
- Restrict groups to 2-3 in FP, to allow the MatchMaker to finally start doing it's job. Groups of 12 made sense back when Factions meant something. Just leave big groups to comp play.
- If it's going to happen it should be now, before new players find out about MWO through MW5.

1. Er..... just let Solos to opt into Group Queue. It should always be that way. Allow solos into GQ, not the other way around.
2. There isn't a MM in FW. If you want to introduce one, then the players first need to be sorted based on skill, not by an EXP bar.
3. True but I'm sure that the Fortnite players would be better than 80% of the current population.
