I watched the trailer a few times. I think it is a good looking game.

The UI for the menus seems a bit busy and congested IMO, but overall it has a nice appearance.

As a side note, the presentor's Atlas appeared to be destroying a Comstar facility towards the end of the video. That can't go well for the company. Hard to do business when everyone mysteriously disappears in the middle of the night, forever, without a trace. :)

Honestly the bigges gripe I had was the speed and heat gauges. They look like placeholders. I liked what I saw from everything else. Those two things are me being semi-nitpicky hoping modders will release some skins for them.

Another interesting thing I noticed. The Jump Ship looked to be the same as the one in HBS's Battletech.

I like that both developers make an effort to have a cohesive feel between both their games. It helps make it feel like both games exist within the same universe. Granted this is probably done more out of convenience than anything, however it does help make the universe feel more...larger and encompassing.

Also, it would be cool to see the Argo hiding in the background somewhere. It would be a cool Easter Egg for HBS Battletech fans like myself :)

PGI offered to help HBS out with the Mechs and gave them most or all of their mechs as assets to save time/money in the development of HBS Battletech, that is at least what I heard.

That HBS would return the help is good. Smaller studios working together and helping each other out should happen a lot more.
And yes the Argo or even the Mechunit you play in HBS BT as part of the MW5 story would be cool.

I think we might have an Argo'esque ship to procure later in the game. I don't think just a Leopard alone will suffice. That jumpship effect is pretty neat I have to say.

IIRC its just the Leo you will have as you won't have more mechs then 4 in each drop. That brings up the question, if you are able to have more then 4 mechs, where will they be stored?

Anyway about the Argo, I forgot when HBS BT takes place in the timeline but does MW5 start before it? That would open up the option to have a mission about the crashing of the Argo before we find it in BT. That would be awesome to tie the two games together.

As Yang says in HBS BT...He will find room :). Maybe that requires strapping inventory to the sides of the ship, or pulling it all through space like a tug. Or...just don't worry about it ;).

HBS BT takes place around the same time. BT starts at roughly 3025, where as MW5 starts at 3015 and goes to the 3040's somewhere.

The Argo is much older though. It was a Star League ship (one of two ever made I think). It was exploratory in nature if I recall acting more like a mobile space station. It was considered civilian with no weapon systems integrated to speak of (relies on the Leopard for defense). That is why it hasn't attracted the attention of Comstar or the other Houses as much. Basically, it isn't going to be another Tirpitz sort of affair.

So basically, at the beginning of MW5, the Argo is still chilling on Axylus hosting Pirate raves/keggers. :)

When I read "Yang" I had this Yang in mind.....
As for storage...maybe you won't take everything with you on missions but have them stored at a base on one of these "Industrial Hub" Worlds they introduced. Could also explain why repairs are so expansive and long when you are in warzones. Supply from the base takes longer to get to you.

To bad about the Argo. Would have been nice to see it when it was in prime condition.

Granted, the AC/20 looked badass. Although it could use way more "umpf" when firing.

The ejection animation looks terrible.

Overall effects are way too overused, just as they did in MWO in the early days. Can't really see what you are firing at because of all the flashes and smoke. I had no idea what he was shooting at at the beginning until I paused the video and saw it was a Commando. Same with the tanks, they just vanish behind a screen of light and smoke.

game developers today: graphics>every thing else. Even the c64's double dragon game can entertain today because of fun game play and story.
