So you pick a multi step mission, complete the first part, then repair your mechs, then choose the second part of the mission.

You can't take you mechs out of repair, and you can't advance time. You can't starmap. So you're stuck. What do you do?

My point is...you can't cancel repairs, and you need to.

don't take a multipart unless you have some spare mechs (and some spare mechwarriors, i had 2 of them die on me on the first part and i had to do the last part solo). at least once i had to continue in damaged mechs. you can always load a previous autosave if you get stuck.

Err yes you can, read the "?" to the top left, it'll tell you how.
Unless of course its specific to the multi part, then I don't know, may be an overlook.

But there does exist time advance and repair cancellation in general.

only thing I have done, to get some repairs done, was use a different mech to continue on,

Partially why you need extra mechs available for these multi missions

i think they hide that in the home tab, you can x out the repair orders. you cant advance time in a multipart after doing the first half though.

problem is you do the first part, then realize you don't have a mech for the second part. there should probably be a pop up explaining that the first time you get one.

You should also be able to 'x' cancel the repairs under the work orders tab in the repair refit screen

In a Battletech tabletop campaign, you'd either have to NOT repair your mechs, use the most functional salvage in the field,
Ditch the mech and continue the mission in whatever vehicle you might have or on foot if you had to.

In this case... you're stuck.

The game should warn you that you cannot repair if you don't have spare mechs, or refuse to allow you to participate in them.

I ran into this exact situation.

In the Battlemechs page, there's a pane on right with Work Orders and Mech Cold Storage tabs. Under the Work Orders tab, you should be able to see a list of all mechs that are under repair or refit. Just hit the X next to the name to cancel the order.
