I am nearing the end of the campaign with a squad of 355 tons. Got to say the game gets better and better. The banshee-3s is just amazing with lb10 cannon. The alpha strike and sustain is insane and mechs die in 1-2 volleys. All weapons at tech level 3-5 are insanely powerful. ALl of that with new graphics and effects looks great. + the epic soundrtack.

And following a couple of inhouse rules all the mechs feel very diffirent. At this time mw5 is simply 10/10 game. It wont beat mwo because they are diffirent though.

MW5 looks boring, so I haven't bothered buying it. MWO is much more fun for me personally because playing against other people is way more fun.

The swarms of dumb AI in MW5 just looks dull to me. Just my opinion. If you're enjoying it, good for you.

I hope MW5 succeeds, so that maybe one day they'll create another online multiplayer mech game.

even though certain things bug me like the spawning right behind me stuff, i still prefer a game that has the semblance of a story..going from match to match to match like in MWO is boring to me..i lie some sort of a story and quest..so for me it would be MW5

Solution to the spawn bug that you can get right now:
As you approach areas that you suspect will have conflict, look away periodically.

If you're within a specified range to trigger the spawns(usually 600 to 900 meters), they're just waiting for you to not be looking at them.
"I can't do it if you're watching."

So periodically look away and they'll pop up where they are supposed to.

The only reason they spawn so close is the spawn points are not hidden out of sight like they should be, and as such from that distance you're looking at them.

Yeah, clearly. Its the game for people that can't handle getting shot at by real people.

Handled that just fine. Is fun, until it isn't. I wore those shoes for 3000+ hours and got my money's worth. Now, I get to experience an aspect of Btech that never materialized in MWO as much as I or many others wanted it to.

Shouldn't be surprised that the toxic part of MWO's community want to take parting shots at those tired of crap involved with MWO.

MW5 is SO far from 10/10.

1. Multiplayer is bugged still. You've got to constantly exit the client and the game to sync online with friends.
2. There's a number of fatal errors at start up for a lot of players.
3. Enemies magically coming from the aether.
4. Stupid AI team-mates.
5. A dozen or more audio bugs the first time a sound file loads.

There's more, but those are the low hanging fruit.

Sadly, what MW5 has right over MWO is that its actually easier to play with friends, due to MWOs really bad matchmaking system.

MWO because no PvE game will ever be able to create the sort of intense living and dying on the edge of a knifeblade experience of trading against ridiculously good pilots.

Or for that matter all the batshit crazy stuff you see in qp.

How am I being toxic? I'm speaking the truth about what the target audience for MW5 is. Nothing wrong with that.

MWO does have this.

MWO has had this for many, many years.

Private Lobbies have not required Premium Time since JUNE 2017 - 2.5 years.

Why are you talking garbage?

Gets told something in ONE game (which is laughable)... Somehow is jaded forever.

I can see why MW5 is your favourite when you have the fortitude of melted butter. PvE - Play it "your" way.

Oh I didn't know they removed the premium requirement. I stopped playing MWO in 2016-ish only to every now and then pop in for a few dozen matches from time to time to get my mech fix in.

Well that certainly changes things.

I'll miss MWO because the actual PvP was great, I'm just kinda burned out on it. Have tried a dozen other games for PvP but the pickings are slim. On a well moderated private server Conan Exiles is pretty good - complex, actually a few meta choices (fewer since the big rebalance unfortunately but still) but it requires a constant time commitment.

While I've written War and Peace several times over in posts critical of PGI I had a lot of fun in MWO. For a team based shooter it's just flat out better than the viable alternatives.

MW5 though is more of a Battletech game and as that it's a great one. There's plenty of challenges to be found in it and with mods it'll fit perfectly into my interests. The coop is pretty fun, both in goofing around instant drops or when a friend needs help with a mission they've gotten into that's rated too high to safely beat with what they've got. I had a lot of fun and met some good peeps hanging out on MW5 Discord and going hotseat for people struggling.

So while MWO was and is a great PvP game, I'm still enjoying MW5 more now.

Enjoy playing the same **** including Ghostheat for another 5 years

Ghostheat is a highly efficient and highly tunable approach to problematic weapon combinations. All other feasible approaches to TTK have been found wanting.

Did you mean to have very short TTK? Nobody really enjoyed hex PPC Stalkers or quad-Gauss/cUAC-10 meta. In many ways current balance is better than it has ever been.

Proofing via armor has unintended nerfing outcomes on both non-meta quantity boated weapons in some cases and value of range as a damage mitigator. Something like a powerdraw mechanic isn't even appropriate for traditional ballistic weapons using a minute electrical charge or firing pin to release stored chemical energy in the primer.

Its inconsistent to be mad about ghostheat and not missile bay doors, damage transfer reduction, buffed head structure, ER PPC splah damage, RAC spread, ballistic pellet streaming, etc. They all serve the same goal, increased TTK for the benefit of gameplay.

Seems strange to be forgiving of MW5 when the same ppfld mechanics are present. They could have gone cone of fire or hit-location table, but didn't. Ergo your criticism of the former makes little sense in light of the later.

What exactly are you looking for in TTK?

Ok bye, those buildings won't crush themselves, you're l33t skillz and years of experience are needed. Hopefully one day I will become good enough to play the advanced academy level that is mw5

At first I was like, "ooooh, sick burn", but then I went back to the MWO Academy and thought, "You know, the guy has a point".

But hey, co-op, more voice actors and better graphics, totally worth it, amiright?

Both. I just ever intend to buy mw5 and use egs when I can use steam. My steam library is vast while the only thing I've used epic for is tinkering with the unreal engine.
