my mind swims with the possibilities of taking MWO across to unreal4.
six months from now a DLC to fluff out the IS mechs and biomes, then six months later clan mechs and PvP, PGI gets phat cash and MWO is reborn with VR support
winning right? someone from PGI please comment YES this can happen.

Russ explicitly said in the Dev Update that MWO would not be ported to Unreal in 2020.
I got the impression he meant 'ever'.
In fact he said they have no preconceived plan for MWO. They will return in the new year and give it some thought.

Would honestly just be happy with the same game on unreal+ continued support.

you're going to start listening to that guy now...?
PGI is a business, they like moneys, MWO on unreal is moneys and the hardest part of it has already been done.
next steps DLC and twenty patches and fiftysix hot fixes (just to show they they are always thinking of us and actually do want to build us the best mech game ever!) and by then it will be 2021 and everyone will be disappointed by cyberthing77 and you blokes will be arguing about comp rules and LuRM trajectories

I've been listening to him for years. That's why I am now fluent in Russpeak.
Here's a handy decoder to help you interpret his responses to requests for new features:
"It's In development for release in 90 Days" = "we are considering one day potentially doing that"
"It's in our development plan for later in the year" = "we may potentially consider doing that one day, but it's unlikely"
"We'd like to do that in future" = "There is no prospect of us ever doing that"

MWO was funded mostly by Mech Pack sales . I really doubt they would convince enough people to buy their Mechs all over again.
I predict they will move MWO to a subscription model, receiving almost zero ongoing development effort, before shuttering it when subscriptions no longer cover operating costs.

I walk them lonely MW5 maps and all I can think about is wishing I had you shooting at me.
so, so, so much wasted potential if it stays merely four players vs bots.

honestly at this point im not even sure i want to buy any mw5 dlc. pgi doing their own ip might be for the best, as they dont have forty years of grognards telling them they are doing it wrong. of course they haven't exactly instilled any brand loyalty in any of the fan bases they have tried to hijack.

Yeah ******* right man. I can not belive that the playerbase, Even that small part that remains, Is THAT F****** retardes
Whats gonna happen is PGI is gonna say "yeah yeah we are gonna keep the servers up" And then one day we are gonna wake up and the severs will have gone dark.

PGI talked about potentially moving to a subscription model on a dev update two months ago. I think they were conditioning us for the possibility. Even though I have played MWO daily for years, I'm not sure I'd be prepared to stump up any more money. I've already spent way too much in the hope that they'd make the game they originally committed to.

By your own words you confirm my last statement.
Most people think Russ is an idiot. Hes not, He has consistently played the playerbase and the gaming industry itself into backing him, Or at least trusting him with time. That time we have given him is our failure. The pillars of mwo were never even remotely delivered on. And we gave him time. FP was never developed, in fact it actually degraded, And we gave him time. He tried to rip off thousands of whales on preorders, And we gave him time.
Russ ain't dumb. He knows how to play people who have more money than sense. He knows how to offer just a slight enough glimmer of hope to keep you paying , To think to yourself, (I just have to hold on) And all will be ok. It will all have been worth it.
But it won't, Its all ********. Every bit of it. I cannot for a moment believe that the playerbase that remains in this game could be so stupid to fall for a sub. I think it would literally destroy what little faith in humanity I have left lol

i wouldnt want a re-creation, id want something new. some new flavor of pvp. perhaps done the mw5 way. i might be willing to buy a pvp dlc for mw5, if it borrows more from fp than qp. i don't want another nonsensical arena shooter ala qp.
