In a FP environment when this is a Clan vs IS discussion and ACW is not great at all.

That is something that is not covered by Grimmechs (FP usage/viability), so stop trying to use it as justification

Incorrect. The ACW-1 is in the Specialist Tier List of Grimmechs, which is intended for helping players build FP dropdecks. It says so right on the page.

Yeah and Grimm has the VUL as A when it should be S for FP, especially given it's extreme useage in this years Comp... It also has the IV4 as S tier and it's at best A IMO.

It also has the WHM-6D laser as A instead of S (when the HBR/EBJ are S) and the 6D has incredible trading potential. So it's not 100% correct all the time and is only a guide, certainly not gospel as the site says itself.

IS vs Clan - ASN/VUL/WLF vs ACW = The ACW is garbage. Simple as that.

Why are you even crying "Grimmechs" so hard anyway? I seen GN-X just running 12mans with RACs and LBX10s and players running WLFs with 3MPL/2ML... About as far from Grimmechs as you can get.

Ash is in EmP, full stop. Up until some personal reasons about a quarter of the way through 2019 (which is for Ash to get into, not me) Ash always attended EmP practices, even though they would occur about mid day Aussie time. He went through the same assessment and selection process that every other full tagged member of EmP did.

We don't just hand out tags like 99% of the other units out there, you have to earn it, and be voted in by the entire group of active members minus 1 No vote.

There is a Discord server for GrimMechs where pretty much everything on there is discussed, and IIRC it is open to the public. As somebody who was there and participating when most of the site was being populated, almost none of it was a cut-and-dry decision on where things should be placed or even if they should be on any of the lists at all.

Yep. There was lots and LOTS of debate (on some mechs it was lengthy etc) about where to put them and sometimes an executive decision was made on that.

TLDR; Both mechs have different roles.
Even then, I'd take the vulcan because it is objectively more survivable and offers nearly pinpoint damage with ISMPL

the grimmechs rankings are just a generalized evaluation of how good a mech is in its particular role. an ERLL trading mech might be listed as S tier, but obviously it's not going to hold up well in a brawl. you still have to use your own judgment and knowledge of the game to decide which mech is right depending on the scenario.

Wrong - Grimmechs was updated on July 31st. Besides, nothing has happened in the past 6 months that would affect the relative strength of the Vulcan or the Arctic Wolf.

Regardless, my point isn't that everyone needs to bring an ACW-1 to every single match. The point is that it's ridiculous to characterize it as being total trash, when it obviously isn't.
