The fact of the matter is that some of your competitive compadres are selfish, terrible sportsmen who care only for their stats. I've seen it, as described in that incident above, and plenty of others have as well, many times. There's a reason that the competitive sub-community here has a such a poor reputation among the player base at large, or what remains of it.

Cause you have an axe to grind with "comp players"? Top tier comp players don't have to "pad" their stats to have good stats, they just come from playing better than everyone else. Most stat padders are pretty trash at the game.

It can be just an accidental suicide sometimes.

I have seen a guy who spawned with the front towards the map boundary. Obviously he hit "W" key right in the moment when he hit the ground and before he realized what was going on, "Boom!" and he was dead.

From what I've seen, it's the stupid players who...

1. Sit back and watch the frontline take all the damage and don't do anything to help
2. Go the long way around without firing at the enemies, to flank
3. Bring LRMs everytime, especially during events, and don't do anything on their own
4. Can't move and shoot at the same time so they prefer to move to the edge and not worry about the team getting shot at
5. Never aggressively shoot at enemies and disengage the moment their paint gets scratched

....... are the ones who look at stats but at the wrong ones (like, "Look, I tanked 450 damage" while barely breaking 100; "Look, my UAV detected 4 reds" when they popped their UAV in front of the enemy firing line and barely survived the 1st minute of the match, etc.,). If they saw where they stood on Jarl's List... well, they wouldn't do anything anyway 'cause they can't.

It also sucks when you've got your throttle set and your keyboard battery dies. Ain't no stopping that train!

On some maps it is impossible, on some maps it is hardly possible, but there are one or two maps where such suicide can be a matter of a few steps.

For what is worth, and regarding the original post, I have problem with a game sometimes, a glitch. It is connected with alt tabbing. Game goes up, and the screen is black. Sometimes, I am able to use voip, sometimes not. It requires game restart, so... I ma usualy dead on restart.

Use Borderless Windowed, and not Fullscreen, and your alt-tabbing problems will be fixed

Or just don't tab out, especially on the match loading screens, that's where things go wrong the most.

No there's a definite long standing bug with full screen mode that relates to windows operating system and how it handles the graphics rendering of different tabbed applications, that aren't experienced with full windowed.

I use the full screen, and when I alt tab on screens that say loading I also get the black screen thing.

Rather than restart the game client, I press control, alt and delete, then activate "Task Manager".

Then I wait 10 to 20 seconds and then I press the Escape key to return to the game (Alt tabbing if needed)

Usually at this stage I can hear game audio, a few seconds later the game graphics fixes it self.

You may have to repeat these's steps more than once, if you did not wait long enough for the game to do its thing.

I never have to restart the game client due to black screen thingie if I do the above
