When are we going to see some actually neat mods? How about creating your own pilot/backstory by inserting your own pic? Or even those of your lancemates? It would be a fun (and certainly easy) mod to put forth to make the game a little more entertaining since the whole game has kind of devolved into 400-ton missions with 30+ tanks, 15+aircraft, endless turrrets and virtually the same battlemechs dropping all the time. I mean...I think of all the enemy 'mechs I've run into in the Inner Sphere; I've probably killed thousands of Cicadas. Thousands. It's kind of absurd. There are more medium mech's out there than cicadas. Dang.

Mod tools are supposed to be released today (moday). Let's see.

I agree later missions should not be about (a lot) more enemies, but harder enemies. Instead of light tanks, bring the super heavy ones (I once saw a Demolisher. Only once). Instead of Cicadas, bring more of the other medium mechs.

Strangely sometimes the computer drop with heavier stuff but that is rare to my experiance. Seams like the "droptable" that decides what is dropped against you is not balanced very well.

Hm, I'm currently at rep 13 and I see plenty of mediums and heavies and quite a few assaults too in random drops.

Sure, warzone missions usually start light with Locusts, Assassins and the ever present Cicadas (yeah, might wanna tone that one down a bit - though it is a good money-maker as salvage) as well as Harassers and Scorpions, but later waves feature Hunchies, Centurions, Griffins and Wolverines all the way up to late-wave Catapults, Archers, Marauders, Awesomes and Cycolops' along with Partisans and Manticores (as well as LRM/SRM 40-60s) and the occasional Demolisher

Rep-10+ assassination targets usually are in heavies/assaults (unless it is an entire lance you have to kill, in which case there is usually a light, a medium, a heavy and an assault or a second heavy) with mediums/heavies as "escorts".

Defense is the same as warzone, with lights in the first one or two waves and drop-weight of hostiles increasing towards the end, sometimes by a _lot_.
Or to quote Baradul: "This is a quick an easy mission" - only to run into a group of 6 assaults and a couple of Partisans :)

Is there the occasional mission which turns out to be a walk in the park due to rather light opposition?
Sure.
So I caught them with their pants down, what's the problem with that?

P.s. I agree that more difficult does not mean more enemies but harder enemies. Of course, for me, this means enemies that are _better_ not just heavier, i.e. better A.I. - facing the Black Widow Company should be a _vastly_ different experience than facing a run-off-the-mill merc company with the same mechs.
Yeah, I know, dream on, Hawkeye.

Couldn't agree more: the stream of light enemies is monotonous and frankly boring. I'd love a drop against one lance of heavy tanks supported by one lance of good mechs.

Also: the first person to mod out the Cicada wins a gold star. That thing is supposed to be a rare specialty mech. I'd rather see tons of Phoenix Hawks, Shadow Hawks, Wolverines and Griffins.

I would hope modding the appearance rates of certain mechs should be an easy thing to change, but you never know.

The remaining Macross Unseens! Wasp, Stinger, Valkyrie, Crusader and Longbow. The little buggers would be great to alternate with the Locust.[/color]
we have this mechs in MWO ? so not in MW5 from PGI

Quote

* Convoy Escort and Ambush missions like in HBS's Battletech
thats works only with handmade maps and set waypoints manually.

More mission types.
for example ? not generic Missions ,with generic Terrianmodules ?

with the UE4 editor you can Build own Missions for it, with own maps

Who knows? Maybe they will release more mechs as DLCs.

Yep, I would want more mission types for auto-generated maps.

Once people start making mods, where do they plan on putting them? nexus mods?

Just curious where to look, and looking forward to all the creations coming :)

There are a few already like Better spawns and NG+ on the Nexus. The NG+ is a little weird 'cause given the low tonnage restriction at the start, you won't be using your fully decked out Heavies and Assaults. Plus, given that the mech variants and equipment get better with the passage of time, you might as well just continue playing after you finish the campaign.

I recommend the Savegame Editor on the Nexus. You can give yourself the good mechs and just have fun. Or you can give yourself all the good stuff (T5 weapons, DHS, etc.,) and play the game with the Doom music in the background. Posted Image

I'm more about the journey than the destination, I usually stop playing a game as soon as I get the 'perfect' gear/character etc.

I expect both franchise (HBS and PGI) will implement clans as a completely separate game rather than a DLC, so that's likely a good target for modders (like what they did with roguetech for BT).

thinking thats Mechs for MW5 comes first for Money to MWO ,and in second Way to MW5 , and the next DLCs have so many Clanmechs for MW5

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if the first DLC was a smaller one with those MWO mechs that fit the timeline (Vulcan, Dervish, Champion; Roughneck, Charger, Hatamoto-Chi, Corsair, Marauder II) but didn't make it into the final release of MW5. The NGNGtv podcast with Russ indicated something in those lines.

What I'm missing from enemy spawn+AI is that if your com said "get out of there before reinforcements arrive..." that you actually get enemies moving from the other side of the map towards your location as reinforcments when you attack some priority target (base/assassination-target).

This mod mitigates a lot of issues in the game. I really recommend: Better Spawns.

I was more looking for some "dynamic" event that matches the voice coms.
e.g. already stationed mechs trying to intercept you instead of just standing in their little outpost until you come to get them one after another. :)
A typical military group would try to group up with reinforcements.

Im thinking ist the Problem of Wayfinding, how many the own Mates have problems to follow you or Enemys stop moving and hanging in the Terrain.

I hope they knock out a DLC quick, because I will drop $30 easy peasy.

No. There's still a lot to tweak and even fix in the base game.

Maxed out merc rank long before I finished camp, my current date is 3068 or 3073 (cant really remember) in my game (not sure if it's just bugged and it was supposed to stop at 3050 or it's working as intended and nothing gets added after 3050, ). I encounter a lot of vehicles in my 88+ difficulty contracts, maybe at best a single lance of heavies but I'll get mobbed by like 30-50 vehicles of varying weight classes (it's annoying and very effective on the AI's part), had a couple where a vehicle lance or two was a pair of Demolishers backed up by a pair of quad AC5 partisans, with a handful of those dual AC10 gunships flying in for a pass (unless it's a warzone then it's just mechs for days).

Did have a difficulty 90 warzone where the AI wigged out or something and it only dropped urbanmechs (all normal variants), no vehicles or other types of mechs, just a full lance of urbanmechs every time a dropship touched down (a couple of times 2 dropships touched down and dropped anywhere between 5-8 of them in a single go (also not sure if that's as intended or the game bugging out), I had a field day (using 4 1E annihilators with quad tier 4 ERLL + 4 ML, max armor, 1 DHS, all other crit slots SHS (otherwise you'll be left undertonned), and a single alpha would take a leg, and another 2 ERLL takes that autocannon arm then they just become the cutest mech pets, played that mission for about 3 hours straight and walked away with like 10mil profit (and pretty much 0 cost for repairs and whatnot), I just figured the game engine went out for a coffee/smoke break and ran what equates to a mech game screen saver mid mission to keep me entertained while it did more important things elsewhere.
