Okay you need to rename one file so its not loaded but its still quite easy to do also not as compfortable.
When the question is to wait till PGI does it or in the meantime simply rename a file I think I can life with renameing it.

The KK and the Rest, not the Logo, is a erm Level you can edit.
I fumble a bit on the Scripts a while ago to get another Mech loaded there.
Would now be much easier with the Game Source and Editor.
But i will first look at the Humand NPC, as there are animations for Soldiers that flee and AI Scripts.

You can just delete or rename the Mod.
If that is something People need, let's say a "Mod Manager" that would be very easy to programm.
As Example Mod Manger: List all installed Mods, enable/disable by checkox.
But with a sidekick to some People, im afraid to hear later i copy/paste a Mod Manager or some Stuff from Eve Posted Image

I allready wrote a small Guide for the German Reader how you can put your new Mod to the Game or share with other People.
My english seems to bad, that international Readers more have fun blaming me for i dont know what so i do it only in german.
Im sure english speaking People will/can release such info in a Guide, too.

My Editor is stuck at "Initializing 45%"..killed App, Epic Launcher and reloaded 2x..just sits at 45%..


Letting it run to see if anything changes:

UE4Editor process sucking up 1.5GB RAM

5 different ShaderCompileWorker process taking up 500mb to 3.5GB of RAM each..


Main process hit 4-6GB...and finally loaded...wow.

The UE4 editor likes to have a nice rig. There's a lot of stuff happening.

And you do not get it, you will NEVER get a Mod Tool from PGI.
You simply get the Game inside the Unreal Editor 4 and need to learn working with UE4.

I do not get the Point, because you not "see" i edit/rewrite some Scripts that is not modding ?
I did allready and rewrote Scripts in my 100 Character Mod, but why should i tell you...im better back to the basic stuff Posted Image

There is no reason why not another Person can mod the AI Scripts, create a new HUD or what he want at this moment. There is no need to wait for PGI Editor then maybe to create a new Story...but im tired telling this.

But thank you for clarify what i say:
People are waiting for some "ready made Tools" to start the hardwork "click here, click there" modding.
Forget that someone has to create these tools by reversing the Gamefiles, like i did and im sure others in the background doing too.

Sometimes, in a World far far away, there were 3 magic letters: DIY - Do it yourself
Today this changed to: DIFM - Do it for me...

To fix the AI you should talk to PGI and not expect it from a modder.

Would be not so hard to write a script like this simple example if you are a Developer at PGI:

function prepare2shoot (target)
if friendly_is_in_line_of_fire then do_not_shoot
else bring_hell_over_enemy


Yeah, but then you would lose the REALISM!!! It wouldn't feel like real combat if your AI team mates couldn't shoot you and each other in the back...

There are People outside that want to play with "some" Friendly Fire and not a constant rate of it.
Or do you always shoot your Mates in the back too ?

It seems to be very easy to create ER lasers. Maybe even Ultra AC2,10,20 as well. Oh and LB.
Just have to learn how to cook them into a .pak Posted Image
Which seems impossible now, as the game will not use new assets regardless, filename, packing, whatnot. It works in the editor, but not in the released game as a loaded .pak.

Don't let your computer sleep during download. The Epic launcher seems to be terrible about the concept of "resuming" anything that isn't deliberately paused.

Hence the lack of support mentioned by PGI in the primer for the editor.

You have to save it into the existing game at the moment if you want to use the changes now.

First few things tested, but I want to clarify one thing:
Are changed to any asset saved only to your current "level", or are they global? (e.g. messing with weapon stats like explosion radius/dmg...)

I guess the changes are global and the only way to revert back is to verify the installation on the epic launcher.

I was messing around with some explosion settings, but it seems that I will need to duplicate many assets, so that i can use specific explosions for each weapon (e.g. having some splash damage on one weapon using Medium_Shockwave and different on other weapon).

Also it looks like the PPC's "on-hit shockwave-bubble" is not visible in the editor in the same way as ingame.
I can see the HUD scrambling the closer the impact is to my mech, tho.
Is there a graphic setting somewhere in the editor, or is it just not there?
