There are many far better ways to do this.

Whoever is coming up with their tactics must be on a whole other level. Between this and the gen sack maneuvers its clear they are not thinking on the same plane of existence as the rest of the players.

refusing to play is against CoC isn't it? Defenders aren't obligated to go outside the gates to shoot since that isn't their required "objective", they win either when the time runs out or all enemy mechs are destroyed, so waiting is still following one of the victory conditions as long as their gens are intact. However, attackers refusing to go in and shoot or even make a token attempt at the "objective" seems like a blatant CoC violation, since they aren't making any attempt at fulfilling the victory conditions.

Yeah but its not enforced, I've seen everyone from lowest potato to high end comp groups refusing to go in

Imagine for a second that you hang your hat on "the objective based gameplay".

And then don't actually play the objective?

Now you understand why I am so confused about the tactics.

I legit cannot work it out.

Whats the point at this point? So a few players will maybe get banned for a week? I'm just glad there are still games happening

Eh, everyone plays the way they play. Why get upset over it? There's no one play style that would make everyone happy. And enforcing one style is a dangerous path; there's no guarantee that it would be your style picked. Just imagine that PGI made my wishes the approved play style. Every match would be 24 Onions punching each other to death, no matter the map or mode.

And it would be glorious.

We're not talking about playstyle here. Sitting outside the gates refusing to open them or attack while the attacking side on siege us at minimum borderline nonparticipation. They weren't whittling the enemy down, slow-pushing, or anything. Just sitting outside

in one match thats true. But the circling outside was just an unusual call not something major. If one team wants to give up the better position, who gives a ****? It just enables you to pad better stats as they roam back in. This mode is a far cry from what it was back in the early days; just be glad there's matches to play and don't sweat the small stuff. If a team won't come in, go outside and kill them. You might lose a few more mechs than you woukd if you sat inside but the only difference would be in your match score and that means exactly Jack **** in FP. FP is about kills and wins. The better team should win even if they push out. It just seems that the small stuff is being sweated way more than it should be. We have a low population in a niche game. Be thankful there are matches and adjust to your enemy rather than worrying about the fact they did something weird.

I find time-wasting obnoxious, and this kind of sit outside the gate on attack stuff is time-wasting. I call it out in QP too when people hide a mech without engaging. It's fine if you're actually trying to play by kiting, slow-pushing, whatever. But when someone is just wasting time they deserve to get called out for it.

doing a circle around the gun is one thing...

Running outside the very gates you are defending (to shoot at nothing), then run back in, then OUT again...

I dunno, I'm still confused as to this.

yeah the more you say it the more it makes me laugh

Its not tactics. Its strategery.
