I honestly have no idea what NGNG did for the "community", I know one of the dudes ran a twitch stream where he played the game (same as a bunch of other people doing for free who don't get all their stuff for free from PGI), and he previewed new mechs and such, but I watched some of those and they weren't really honest analysis of the mechs, more just like an in depth ad for mech packs. I guess they had a podcast or something, but in reality how many people actually watched it? Given that mech packs are no longer being released I can see how PGI would feel there's no need to pay someone to basically run a twitch channel since the advertising services they previously provided are no longer needed.
This exactly.
I have never cared about NGNG and their supposed "community". I know vaguely that they had some Twitch streaming channel that I have never cared to watch.
Oh, just one thing. I remember how they pretended for a while that they are impartial, just before they admitted that they are in a very close relationship with PGI.

Same with the community manager position, all I saw was a few posts on the forums and she did some moderation? That volunteer moderators do for free? And helped run the event once a year (that's no longer run). Seems like a nice person and all, but the work output hardly looks like a full time position.
This exactly.
The fans welcomed her when she took her office and and she interacted with the fans (for the first few weeks). After all, she was replacement for Niko Snow - if you were around at that time, I am sure that you remember that unfortunate PGI's community manager who managed to get PGI banned on Reddit on PGI's official channel.
Yeah, that guy who punished people on this forum who said something "nasty" about MWO and PGI on some completely different web pages or forums.
God, I loved that magnificent threadnought that had about 100-150 pages of ridiculing and hate all pointed on Niko Snow and PGI. And all in about one or two days ...
So the MWO players had really high hopes when Tina Benoit made her appearance. But she soon settled into a stereotype: Making a few routine announcements regarding patches and Mech packs, locking a few topics, etc.
The most funny are her last year's remarks about keeping MWO forums tidy and well organized ... and then you remember that December forum mess with
MW5:Mercs topics appearing all over the place because nobody bothered with the creation of MW5 forum.
