I have been working on shaders for OBS Studio and recently in game reshaders. Here are examples of IN GAME Predator Thermal View

Although, I could just create a package to allow everyone to have this, it might be better as an actual ingame option.

Maybe add it as a SKILL on a mech, or as part of a "targeting computer" or even as a free general UI option in settings, or as ALT-H.

Or, I have no problem with you guys monetizing it. Make a new mech called "the Predator" or a variant of mechs (P) that can do it.

It really looks good and works on most maps

Congrats, it's very nice.

However, this game already has both the thermal mode and the night scope. I do not think that PGI would waste money on re-introducing the third night vision mode that they removed in Spring 2013, especially if they stated that both existing night vision modes function as intended.

The Predator already exists in BattleTech: Posted Image

This replaces normal heat view. Consider it an upgrade that many of us prefer over the black and white heat vision.

Also consider streamers and others who want the game to be more visually appealing and presentable.

The improved colorization of heat vision is just cool and the way this works is dynamic and interesting!

Perhaps as an upgrade that people have to actually spend money or MC on. Fits into a Mech as a subcomponent into an existing component.

I call this a HAX! This way you are able to see enemy mechs way more easy (Cheat).

Btw. this game once got such a thermal view.

""I agree that the ~500/600m short sighted 31st century heat and NV is a joke... However, in closed alpha/beta we had "Predator" vision that was frankly, a better way to see and identify targets at range, other than your eyeball. So a bit overpowered. Now I'm ok with a better vision system, I do think you should have to pay for it. By paying for it, I mean through tonnage. I.e. targeting computers. Have it as a kind of built in function of better view range with other vision modes. If you're committing 5+ tonnes ( where applicable) you should be able to see very far under alternate view modes."" quoted from a different thread

I'll add it could even cost a skillpoint and be under Adv. Zoom in the skill tree or on the opposite side of it or even on the very bottom as the last thing you could unlock. Thats a lot of points to use just to see better... And with how stealth works currently this will not be an issue.

Never knew there was a thread on this topic, MANY THANKS!

I also have had the very same thought, that:

1) In Thermal Vision mode, Add Red/Blue colored mech silhouette to indicate foe/friend respectively.

2) Add color to the artillery "orange warning smoke" so that it shows up in Thermal Vision mode (any color--it could be grey for all I care). Currently the artillery "orange warning smoke" is almost invisible in Thermal Vision mode!!

Thank you for your kind attention!
