Various devs have stated that RT is an efficient rendering method that eases up the development process, so expect RT to become commonplace within five years or so. Put it this way, if you can afford a decent RTX now, it is probably safe to go for it. However, if you do not have immediate plans to upgrade, better wait for Canadian alternatives to bring the price down. Personally I got RTX 2060 Super to replace my good old 660, and I tell you that RDR2 landscapes at night are something to behold. Quake 2 is fine too

Actually... For MW5. It is a total waste of time and money. You are once again just making stuff up.
RTX only applies to the Mechbay when you walk around in it in MW5. Even I'm not sure it's even working.
Pity this update has broken all the work modders have done too...

You do realise that a significant number of "RTX / Ray Tracing" games ended up either
- Not delivering
- Pulling it
- Only delivered it in basically insignificant areas
To say someone should purchase a RTX card now for Ray Tracing is quite simply uneducated and irresponsible.
And I have a RTX 2080 - I did not purchase it for Ray Tracing.

Well, what for then? Scratching your back? Hammering nails? Mining crypto? Boiling water with it as you mine crypto?
If game devs decide to develop games for hardware RT support, they will do it. It drives demand and eases up development. This is exactly how it happened with hardware shader support a while back (ALL the cards have it now). I upgrade one or two times in a decade so I bought a ray tracing card. For ray tracing. Exactly what it was made for. Novel concept, I know.
