The exact, word-for-word instructions don't work on Windows 11.

This is and odd point for me. I recently bought two new, Windows 11 laptops. MWO works fine on one of them, but not on the other.

just built new 17-12700 system and the link from MrVaad works.Follow instructions carefully and it worked first time for me. I believe I was missing some old Openssl files with my clean install.

My game run fine last week, but today it said the portal is crash. The repair tools said I don't have MWOClient.exe, I found it has MWOClient.exe-fresh instead. How to rename or solve this problem?

-mwoupdate\mismatch\bin64\mwoclient.exe

Any files downloaded for the FE will be cleaned.

The shader cache will be cleaned out.

You bumped a 4-year old thread, which that issue was caused by OpenSSL 1.2. with specific Intel CPU - Fix for 10th gen and later Intel CPUs and MWO at that time.

If the exe was renamed, possibly infected with a virus. For mismatched files, the files MIGHT be fine but either have a hard drive going or/and unstable ram, giving erroneous errors. You should really start your own thread.

heres for you out there experiencing intermittent crash on startup after a patch and when you run the repair tool it finds a mismatched file maybe something with mwoclient.exe_fresh or some ****...

you might even run into this error when trying to fix any issues that you find

in which it aborts the repair.(even though your running on admin and have basic computer kung fu)

have no fear... temporarily disable your avast antivirus shields and redo the repair.
