That can't be answered generally. As it depends very much on the single chassis and your preferred playstyle. One thing though, the longer you stay alive and with your Assaults (literally, Assault class mechs), the more "Protected Medium" you get, every instance gets you 700 cbills and about 3.5 matchscore. That aside, Damage, Solokills, Brawling. Each Solokill alone nets about 23-26 matchscore, not counting the damage done.

I run mostly IS mechs, and mostly mediums, however I have a variety of other chassis.
How do you equip your IS mechs to achieve better match score results?

It helps greatly if you list the mechs that you prefer. For e.g., if you have the Dervish Frenzy, you can simply equip 4x SRM6+A or 4 SRM4s + 4 SRM2s and go ham. With a slightly careful reading of the match, you'll crank out incredible amount of damage easily. You can even put MRMs on it but the Quickdraw IV4 is simply better for 2 MRM60 which again, results in a lot of damage and boosted MS.
The Black Knight 6 with its 2 AMS and 3 LL + 4 ERML loadout can be a good mech if you're used to it. It is great with an XL engine but it can be insta-death if you're not careful. Corsair 7A with its 4x AMS is great if you have a match where there are a lot of LRMs. You can put 3x RAC2s and MLs on it with the AMS to boost MS like crazy or you can be weird like me and go 4x AMS, 4 ML + 1 Heavy Gauss + 1 Gauss Rifle and treat it like a Heavy Gauss machine. It is surprisingly good.
So, yeah, let us know your favourite mech variants and we'll provide the builds. You can even check this site out...

Thank you all for the great insight.
I always learn a little each time we have a conversation.
I also understand that I'll never be a great pilot, but thanks to you guys, maybe a little better.
Makes the game much more enjoyable.
Peace

The difference made by those would be negligible compared the difference made by the missiles he shot down. The number of missiles your ams destroys can boost your match score astronomically. My intuition would be Magno shot down between 100 and 200 missiles, maybe less.
You can see this pretty easily when you get huge match score out of a relatively unremarkable match in a dual ams mech.

Just finished a match (win) on Grimm with 4 kills, 2 KMDD, and 227 AMS, and aprox 630 damage, and my match score was 389.
I had a higher match score earlier with only 2 kills and 1 KMDD and about the same AMS and was awarded 419. (I shot down a UAV if that might make a difference)
Both matches I stayed with the core of the team, very close to the action, and was killed before the match ended.
Sure wish I had the spreadsheet formula that PGI is using to do the match score calculation so I could fine tune my play style to maximize match score.
Why don't they release that info?
How could it possibly harm the game?
*It could only help the player base*
Sorry, I need to take a chill-pill (or open another bottle of wine).
Oh, and before I close, I wanted to thank the other players who provided suggestions which have assisted me on my quest to complete this special event.
Peace

I'll share my experience with MWO. I got the game on Steam and while it was installing, I bought the Solaris 7 DLC. My first ever mech that I piloted was the Mad Dog Revent with LRM 60 + 4 MPLs (basically stock). I had no idea how to fire weapons, no idea what skills to pick, what that red smoke near me was

Once I reached T2, I took a couple of months' break and came back around March and started using the Griffin Ares more. I bought a few Heroes thanks to the Dropship sale and I had a terrible time 'cause I was using loadouts I made myself and the mechs needed a lot of knowledge to pilot. I'm talking about mechs like the Night Gyr Jake Kite, Sunspider Vanguard, etc., You can see it in my stats on Jarl's just how bad it got. Then after a few posts here and getting more info about builds, I tried them again and had much better results and I gradually got better.
I made so many topics about mechs and loadouts here EVEN after a year of playing that it annoyed some people

What I'm saying is, streamlining the build to work with your playstyle and taking mechs good for that loadout makes a huge difference. At one point, I was trying to make a Snubnose + 2 SRM6 + 3 ERSL on the Griffin Ares work. I switched it to a LFE with 4 MPLs + 2 SRM6+A and it is pretty good. I should also mention that until you've gotten used to the weapon groups and timing of the weapons, it's better NOT to try other loadouts and mechs. It'll only hamper your progress. You will reach a point where you can go from Gauss+PPC poptart to a Flea without any problems. Until then, I suggest sticking with what you know and what you can improve

Edit: I typed all of that and never addressed the portion of your post that I quoted

I try not to think to much about what PGI is doing because it sends me into a depression
the fact that this game has tanked tells me what ever they are trying to do is not working

At the rate I'm making match score, I can predict that I won't have time to play enough to win the prize on this one.
Got too much on my plate right now and can't do enough matches to make it happen.
My problem, not PGI's.
Love the game and community.
Thanks guys (and gals), for all of your advise.
Peace Out.

All you need is 100 Loot Bags from the MS and 150 from Damage Dealt. The second part will be much easier to complete. Keep going.

I have begun to suspect that PGI has to make these events a little extra challenging in order to pad the numbers by showing how many players are engaged with the game.
Easier to do this than expend resources on actual game modifications that would attract new players and energize existing ones.
Thanks for the encouragement, anyway.
I will keep plugging away given the time I have available to play, but won't hang too much hope of making the cut.
