I see an older thread in MWO about this....Posted Image

Is there a keyboard selection to fire the current selected weapons group for MW5 or are we stuck with having to map 6 different buttons to fire groups 1-6?

We don't have "Fire current weapon group" button. Besides, why do you have 6 different weapon types? Posted Image

Because some of us use canon load-outs, that is why. It is MW5, not MWO, so in some cases they actually work better.

No, they don't lol. A Stalker with 2 LL and LRM 40 with lots of heatsinks works better than a Stalker with LRM + LL + SML. Besides, your AI teammates don't use more than 3 weapon groups at a time and they go through it in order. Moreover, if they have even one short range weapon, they will run close to the enemies even though they'd better off using their ACs or LRMs or Lasers from mid range.

Yes, they do. If you get zerged with tanks your LL cycle time and heat is wasted on taking out one tank at a time as his other dozen buddies have at you from all sides, a couple of smol lasers are much better for that. Boating builds work in MWO because you have one and only one enemy type. In the rest of BT things are a tad more complicated. Agree on friendly AI though, for them boating builds are the only option.

Give commands to your AI teammates to Hold Position. That'll help much more in concentrating builds to wipe out enemies from your desired range based your loadout instead of bringing a rainbow cloud of hope.

The only reason you'd bring such a mixed loadout is 'cause of PGI's genius idea to restrict build options. There's really no need for ALL Annihilators to be restricted to bringing only medium ballistics at the most. That is the only reason you'd want a mixed build and even then, just ignoring MLs and bringing lots of ammo for your quad AC10 or LBx10 with more heatsinks would be infinitely better than mixing lasers in there.

This is in the mw5 mercs forum right: you know that you can't wipe the tanks later in the game with a single small laser shot anyway?
