But queue 8 player groups with the 4 weakest ungrouped players who never win by themselves, and you've improved the MWO matchmaking experience tenfold.

Yep this exactly! This will help group queue because not being able to drop with a friend is silly.. actually is good to see they haven't completely abandoned our game.

Though putting out numbers tends to not be implemented because numbers can work against the game as well as for the players, in which case its just hide them.. giving too much info out can create headaches too.

BUT here is MY thought. IF PGI can figure out a way to make the game recognize that it NEEDS to run 8v8 if / when server load is TOO LOW - and it CAN run 12v12 IF/WHEN server load is "AVAILABLE" then this would be PERFECT for all teams. and the game simply tells you "we are running 8v8 right now" or "we are running 12v12 right now" because the player base is either there - or not there. IT SOUNDS so easy - but is it? it SEEMS such an easy fix. FORCE 8v8 if necessary. RUN 12v12 when available. boom.

Overall I think this is a good change .. it's going to take a bit of time for folks to adjust to smaller teams on these larger maps .. but this kind of change is good!

Now in Quick's we have extreme small amount of active players and overwhelming advantage of one team in every fight, therefore mythical "balance" won't change.
Let solo and group fights together!

Who in his right mind would request something like that ?
This is a game in the Battletech Universum where the ONLY OBVIOUS choice is to pit as many players against each other as possible in a match ! and NOT to reduce that !
In all my 11700 hours of gameplay i hoped Piranah would upgrade to 24vs24 q-play and f-play
and maybe even fix Solaris by introducing a 24 FFA stomp.
but NO:-----
- not only were they unable to balance clan and IS
(remember the 2 weeks into the civil war upgrade challenge/event where IS was actually
winning ? (only because the clan teams switched side and thenthey realized this
update/skilltree etc changed nothing and went back to clans) leaving IS in the same situation
again?
- then they screwed up with SOLARIS
- then they screwed up introducing extra COMP play queue
(which should have been covered by SOLARIS)
- and now you´re turning this into a e-sport variant for those bimbos ?
this will kill the game even faster !
