I think I'll get the Thanatos bundle ($20). I mainly am interested in the TNS-4P. I've setup a loadout with a mix of energy, ballistic, and missiles. Looks awesome!

Warning: Mixed loadouts are hard to use effectively. You generally want all your weapons to have maximum effect at the same range and to be able to fire them at once or very close timing to another. If some of your weapons are hitscan, some have projectiles that require leading moving targets and some require lock on or just projectiles at a different velocity, you are going to have a hard time getting damage applied to enemies.

If your weapons don't even share the range profiles in the first place, you are wasting tonnage on weapons that go unused.

Okay, good point. Then maybe my original choice, the laser Marauder. It just looks so damn cool, and I love lasers.

If u choose bye rule of cool. Why exactly do u ask for advice? No one can answer u this question. But u can ask yourself. Bow many laser slots do the mech have? Are there any good quirks? Good geometry? If u still end up with marauders, we live in different universes.

Ehwhatnow?
MAD-IIC is not as agile as it used to be, but it is still a prime platform for boating 2LPL+6ERML
MAD-BH2 is a bit niche but it is still a very durable mech for boating 3LL+some ERML with Jump Jets and good quirks.

Prolly get both the Marauder *and* Thanatos. :)

If he is talking about 2c. Yes it is good. But rly I didn't get the swing back to assaults and or a clan mech.
The bounty hunter is fine (I prefer the combo with a ballistic).

For a pure laser boat 7 slots with low arms and not rly the best quirks is not what I am looking for, when I search for a vomit.
And I would not suggest an niche hero for a starter, but hey someone has to keep the servers running.
My rule of thumb. 7 lasers. Great geometry and or quirks required.
8-9 ok geometry and or quirks.

Hopefully MWO/PGI would re-introduce the GHR-5H(S) +30% C-Bills mech from 2015/2016, via the "Heavy 'Mech Performance Pack II" !

I wish to buy this GHR-5H(S) Special Variant mech!

I am extremely fond of the Grasshopper as a Laser Vomit mech: https://mech.nav-alp...5fbe76b7_GHR-5P I did not put AMS on my example, but it can carry one of those too. For skills you will want all the range and heat related goodies and then structure for what you can afford.

Then better get the grasshopper 5h. One less laser but 10% Heat Gen Quirk. Makes a perfect hpc build. One is in the link on grimm (u can do it with lfe)

Heavy PPC. That build is indeed much better on the 5H or the Mjölnir than on the 5P. But I am very fond of the hardpoints on the 5P for laser vomit use, even if the quirk is worse to compensate for the superior hardpoints.
