I haven't played for more than a year so there have been a change

I played a mech with stealth armour and got obliterated by a streak boat. I was neither tagged, narced nor hit by a PPC. That was quite a WTF moment.

So, could anyone please enlighten me if there was a change?

Sounds like you were tagged or hit with a ppc, or didn't have your stealth armor on.

Nope, it was the only mech around. There were several buildings seperating us from the rest of the fight.

Does a UAV punch though stealth?

Uavs don't work on stealth. If you suddenly went boom it sounds like some one had thermal and got you with a guass round. Stealth also has cooling turned so your mech cools any heat build up at a reduced rate so you could blow yourself up with it by firing lasers a lot under stealth.

Stealth only makes it so mechs' sensors don't auto lock you like normal. you can still be seen in thermal, night vision, seismic sensors,or by moving. Maybe another stealth-ed mech was around you didn't notice.

People that use stealth armor are pro activity trying to not share armor.

I'll take it off my Flea and Locust so I may share my 12 points of armour with you good sir. May you find them ever so useful.

Much obliged!
In so many games I went down thinking “damn, if only I had 12 more points of armor I could have carried the team”.

Oh don't even get me started on Stealth Armor..

A few days ago, I was chasing a stealth Assassin and was TAGing it actively, but didn't punch through it's Stealth, then a few matches later, easily Tagged a Stealth target.. also an Assassin... was furious..

I don't think there is anything that reliably defeats stealth armor except perhaps a PPC..

Stealth Armor is OP A.F... Just another "cater to certain players" mechanic in MWO..

That really depends on what you use it for. If to skulk around with an assult and take pot shots for minimal damage then yes. On the other hand, I use stealth on a Phract brawler to prevent the enemies from reading my ragdoll - they spread the damage over all components and the Phract ends up absorbing crazy amounts of damage before going down. So yes it shares plenty of armor.

Keep in mind that TAG doesn't work when under influence of enemy ECM. So if the stealthed mech is hugging you, you're out of luck.

I love stealth armor enemies, they tend to be under gunned and overheat easily, easy kills

I am equipped with both beagle active probe and tag but I still cannot tag the stealth enemy at close range. Is this the reason?

Probably. APs don't counter stealth-ECM, TAG doesn't work under "low signal", also if you have ECM on your own, APs lose their counter-ability.
