Engines should go on sale. I got some mechs that I want to upgrade and I want to do it in a short amount of time. I know that I could do faction play but I want to take the easier route to buy some engine.

Faction Play is NOT an easy route for Engine buying. You spend 3 times the amount of time that you would spend in Quick Play, only to get about half the (C-Bills) that you would have earned in the 3 Quick Play rounds which you could have done in the meantime.
