That being said, I wanted to toss a few ideas that'd I'd love to see in a Mech game, And thought that, no doubt others have ideas that would be amazing to see. (If not in THIS game, in future titles.)
The first dream of mine is melee combat. It's long been in the boardgame and many mechs are built around the idea. Whether it is an axe (Axeman, Hatchetman) a sword like many Kurita mechs, or just the fists - many are designed around the concept of physical weapons as part of the machine. I've seen discussion about calculating sub parts, something that has never really been done, but has no longer any technical reason limiting it. This could work off the same system. There is little reason to not have dozens of hitboxes per mech especially on a PC only title. It would be interesting to balance, but we've had the basis for many years.
The second would add another layer of immersion. We are all hoping for joystick support, and while they have not confirmed it, in the PC gamer interview it makes it sound likely. I would like to see something I have never seen before. Dual Joystick support (and yes, pedals too!) It would be truly interesting to learn, and true to lore. I do not know if Windows would even allow it, actually, but it's something I wished to try since MW2.
Post your ideas! Perhaps we can give the devs an idea they love, but haven't thought of!

Edit: just saw this in the FAQ:
"Q. Will MechWarrior® Online™ have Mech melee combat?"
"A. At this point in time we are not looking at melee combat. We may revisit melee combat if we can design something that is fun and does not compromise the overall gameplay experience."
So, let's hope!
