There's absolutely no way they don't have a few maps stacked away somewhere they decided not to use.... give me a change and for god sake get rid of Veridian Bog.... I only gets picked so people can get their multipliers up.....

Lots of new mechs too! Everything after the Civil War is new to me. The skill trees didn't seem to change at all though. My points are all still where I left them.
please don't try to burst my bubble!

When you said snow polar all I can think of now is turning Polar into Therma Highlands instead and making it a blazing hot map. Also, every little canyon would have lava rivers flowing through them so if you try to take cover from lurms you will slowly burn to death. =)

**** I wouldn't give a damn if they are good. Do you remember when the crazy times when Counterstrike was new and everyone made maps? Some where real ****** but some where so much fun, even when they did made zero sense.
Over time the good maps stayed and the others went the way of the Dodo.
I would make it similar with MWO. Give people a map editor that lets them submit maps. Build them into the voteing carussel and those who don't get voted on will be deleted while those who are played the most stay. At the end of the year the top 3 maps get a seriouse rework by the devs. Repeate for the next year. That way you can allways have new maps.
Or you take what you learned from MW5s random map generator and use it to build something similar into MWO. Just imagne a "new" map every time you play. Well mostly new, over time you will know each piece thats used but it will take some time.
It would open up the gameplay for a bit of scouting as there wouldn't be the "usual" spots where enemies would pop up so scouting to know where your enemy is would actualy be helpfull.

But yes I remember that I had a CD for StarCraft with maps.

Rubble is a pretty cool 'new' map. The solaris city is bloody awful on how many different little ledges your alledgedly giant battlemachine can get stuck. Not to mention the cramped viaducts and invisible edges of walls catching shots. Ugh.
A couple of dozen playermade ones that can be tested and the good ones to be incorporated into the rotation would be excellent.
Not expecting anything.

civil war was the only real update in my book. the new weapons were a much needed breath of life. it even helped some old legacy mechs that nobody uses anymore. they actually delivered content. i reward them by purchasing an annihilator. that may have been my final mech pack purchase, though i did buy some clan heros and mc after that.
solaris would have counted too if they gave us ffa, if the bolt ons were not all terrible, and if 2v2 had a matchmaker. but it ended up bombing.

there was never any want for maps in ye olde golden days of pc gaming. doom and quake maps are still being made to this day (quake 1.5 was ******* awesome). i remember the communities having regular mapping competitions. someone would offer up a voodoo 2 as a reward and everyone and their mother would make entries of various qualities. granted these were everything from meh pgi-quality maps to artistic masterpieces. but at least you had options. i also played the descent and freespace series, missions up the wazoo (and were still being made last i checked). the end of that era is marked by a bunch of games that had no user map support, phone home drm schemes, and a lot of anti-consumerism.
mechwarrior living legends had some awesome maps. pgi should have at least blatantly copied them, or reached out to those creators to discuss licensing for an official port to mwo. even if they were doing semi-sanctioned user maps, that is maps had to meet certain quality requirements and had to get pgi's stamp of approval before being added to the rotation. it would be significantly less than the quarter million a map figure they gave some time ago and their game would appear to have content.
