- +10% Range
- -10% Heat
- -10% Cooldown
- 3 LPL all clustered in the Left Torso (remember to twist so you take damage on the right).

Crab, Catapult Jester, Thunderbolt, Warhammer, Battlemaster and Banshee are most prominent examples.

true, and ~atm~ it is the better setup - doesn't mean the LPL-hopper is bad, though;
since the OP asked for options, I gave him another one.

3 plus as many (er)ML as you can fit; if you got the tonnage, go for mor LPL and fill up with (er)ML.
battlemaster with 5LPL was a beast back in the day, and is still good today.
(you fire them in 2 groups to not fry yourself).

basically, you get a battlemaster 1G or 2C, put 3 in the RT, 2 in the LT, stuff the rest with double-heatsinks and go with a decent engine;
both standard- and LFE have their advantages; XL only if you're confident with your torsotwisting - or wanna learn it the hard way.
I'd lean towards LFE as the best compromise for QP, since speed is an issue; in fw, I went with standard in this thing, as you use it differently there.

IS LPL's are really meant for brawling, which limits what you can and can't do with them. I can vouch that the Battlemaster can run LPL's pretty well. If you want more versatility out of your builds, then I suggest looking at clan mechs. Like LordNothing said, Rifleman IIC has range quirks and 2+HSL which let's you Alpha strike quad pulses with the occasional break for heat build up. The Hellbringer can also alpha strike 2xLPL's with erML's if you want some nasty damage output.

If you're thinking to take the K2 for lasers you're better off with the Jester. Jump-jets and LFE make for a much better chance of survival and if we're talking pure LPL builds you can switch to tripples if the hardpoint locations don't fry your brains.

If yea want to spend money sure but I do like full -10 heat vs just 5% you can eat the ghost heat on K2 because of it and fire all 4. Also XL not super huge risk on a Cat there very XL friendly mechs
