PSR CHANGES PATCH

Patch June 30th

Patch Number: 1.4.227.0
Standalone Client Patch Size: 6 MB

Please note that due to compression differences the Steam patch size may be larger than the standalone client patch size.

• Patch Files (Direct Download) http://patcher.mwomercs.com/patch/Production/frontend/FrontendPatch_377.zip

PATCH NOTES

This resets PSR and changes the way PSR is calculated and distributed at the end of a match.

For more details please see: https://mwomercs.com/forums/topic/277302-psr-community-version-10/

Enjoy!

The MechWarrior Online Team

Patch Files (Direct Download)

To make the patching process easier for players with limited download caps, we'll be providing direct download links for the patch file(s) that comprise this patch. This will allow you to download the patch file(s) elsewhere, for manual injection into the MWO patcher through a Patch Cache folder.
Aside from allowing you to download the patch file(s) elsewhere, on another connection, there are no additional benefits to performing the patch this way; the patching process itself will be the same.
This direct patch download process will only work for players running the standalone client. It does not apply to players running MWO through Steam.

Patch File(s): To be provided on patch day

How to use these patch files
• Download the above file(s)
• For sake of ease, we recommend creating a dedicated folder for the patch file(s), such as 'MWO Patch Cache'
• You do not need to unzip or unpack the patch file(s)
• Launch the MWO Portal
• Select the three horizontal lines in the top left of the Portal Window
• Choose the 'Specify Patch File Cache' option
• In the field that appears, paste or enter the location in which you saved the patch file(s) and hit OK
• For example, C:\Users\<username>\Documents\MWO Patch Cache
• Click the blue Patch button
• The launcher will now check the Patch Cache folder you defined. If it locates the required patch files, it will unpack and use those files to apply the patch.
• Once the patch is complete, launch the game

Thanks for the update. Can we start discussing the next iteration?

This still behaves like an XP bar but now goes both ways.

Can we make the XP bar stabilize now?
Can we tune up Jay Z's X,Y,C parameters to values with at least an analysis backing it?

Link to my analysis and stabilization formula - formula uses only PSR and Jay Z's shift:

Thank You, PGI Staff, for delivering Official Patch Notes with helpful download links included on this major update to how PSR & MatchMaking will function in MWO into the future. I hope things work out in a positive manner, and don't end up backfiring in any kind of unwanted way. B)

Picked up the game again yesterday after about a two week break due to the changes in the game experience. I figured that if I complain and make suggestions in the forum, I have to give it a fair shot in the game. Plus I did enjoy the game before the merge.

Thank you for listening. And another thank you for doing something.

Could someone please explain how the valves will be set? Mech weights/class, player skill, any attempt to balance premade groups.

Ok, any guesses on estimated time to creation of "I am the first player to Tier 1" brag thread. 4 hours?

I myself am more intrigued to see how quickly someone can drop to T5. I think its gonna take real effort. I just played 5 real quick matches, all in my usual 60-65 ton builds and playing my normal 'semi-suicidal, I'm gonna brawl even if brawling is a really bad idea' way. 1 Win, 4 loses, 4 positive PSR results. Maybe I am being naive, but I think its going to take real effort to drop to T5 very fast.

Edit:

After 13 games of which 8 were in severely under toned 3 or 4 mans: 7 wins, 6 losses 8+

I'm sorry but I am not a good player; I am average at best, and so are most that I play with, yet there is still a pretty clear upward trend prevalent here,at least based on our initial matches. Maybe it is less pronounced than in the old system? I don't know.

Guys, what I would fear more is those who think it a great idea to AFK (which I personally advocate against, by the way) and intentionally tank down to 'Tier 5', in order to allow themselves to enjoy stomping everyone else who falls down that way. This new system almost seems game-able in a downward direction, which is something I don't like and would never do myself. :(

Hi guys, are there patcher issues atm?

I can't run MWO atm due to a portal issue, any clues?

Check your Local Connection (including wiring, if by Ethernet) to your Router, then your Internet Connection, and yell at your ISP if you have to. That's literally the only thing which would stop the MWO Portal from launching properly. :(

For reference, mine is working properly.

Nope, you - as evereyone else - were reset to PSR 2500. That's the exact middle of T3.

Oh, you just have to play against the EmP farming team every second game like me... so, no need to afk to drop. Posted Image
I think, the tiers should have settled after a week or so.

Is anyone else having some server issues? Rubberbanding / jumping all over the map? Half of my keys didn't "activate" (pressing R but not locking, pressing "home" for an Arty and it doesn't launch) ?
Was about an hour and a half ago... so 14:15 Amsterdam/Berlin time.

Yes, absolutely. And it seems to be a global thing, not only EU servers.
