I remember this game. It was pure dumb luck because of passive play from everyone.

Congratulations! Legitimate aces are hard as heck to come by.

Most people I know got their ace or even deathstar during that one horrible patch a few years back that had entire teams being kicked an entirely unable to rejoin which lasted for a few hours.

Grats man, I only ever got an 8 kill game before the achievement system was implemented. I did it in a UAC-5 2xPPC shadowhawk.

i think it was dumb luck that kills 8 and 9 were just over the platform and very cored. by that part of the game people are rushing in to secure kills. and for the next four games my hands were shaking so bad i ended up potatoing a lot.

In general i feel it is easier in faster mechs with enough firepower. But that might be personal preference.

@oneteamplayer are not your strong point or?

Imho to get ace of spades or some other great achievement usually requires passive teams (two flocks of lambs) and you positioning properly more than some special build.
Especially you gotta be aggressive just before enemy team starts to fold as all the little sheep in your team suddenly get very brave in the end even if they were hiding throughout the match.

That said the ones I can remember were done with:
sleipnir: 4xlbx10 and 4xuac5
mauler: 2xhgr + 6xerml
night gyr: 2xgauss + 4xmpl
battlemaster2c: 3xlpl + 3xmpl

Slepnir and mauler builds are from grimmechs and the ntg & blr are just approximations of what were used as its been 4 years or something when I drove those.

My first was in a Huntsman with 5 or 6 SRM6s. At least three of them were just casually walking up behind the bad guy and hitting alpha into their back. Then I ran out of ammunition.

First time in a 3L with the old 2xERLL build on old Frozen, Second time in a Default Victor-9K on old Caustic and third time in a Shadowhawk 5M, I don't recall but it was a gauss build.

My first: Battlemaster, SRM/Laser config (can't remember exact loadout)
Most number AoS: Jester; 4MPL/2LPL (sheer volume of matches)
Recent AoS: Grinner, 5MPL.(few months ago)

Not my first, but definitely my most proud. Was one of "those games, ya know... 3-8. Was me and the Thanatos just merking people left and right for a sec, gott it to 9-11, and was able to finish off the last damaged mechs for the clutch 12-11

Was using dual Hgauss/MPL, not many people twisted that match.
