In general i feel it is easier in faster mechs with enough firepower. But that might be personal preference.

@oneteamplayer Posted Image are not your strong point or?

my supernova build does 60. which is about as low as i want to go with an assault build that is not an ultraviolet.

Imho to get ace of spades or some other great achievement usually requires passive teams (two flocks of lambs) and you positioning properly more than some special build.
Especially you gotta be aggressive just before enemy team starts to fold as all the little sheep in your team suddenly get very brave in the end even if they were hiding throughout the match.

That said the ones I can remember were done with:
sleipnir: 4xlbx10 and 4xuac5
mauler: 2xhgr + 6xerml
night gyr: 2xgauss + 4xmpl
battlemaster2c: 3xlpl + 3xmpl

Slepnir and mauler builds are from grimmechs and the ntg & blr are just approximations of what were used as its been 4 years or something when I drove those.

that about what we had. also i got damn lucky with a bunch of cored mechs all in a row. seemed like 4 or 5 of mine all happened in the space of about 30 seconds.

lately it feels as if i can stand alone in the face of a 4+ mech firing line and be perfectly safe.

Yea. Ace of spades is always a bit luck. A few days ago I had 7 kills in a hppc bj 1200+ dmg and we won a 3 vs 6 or 7. That match was far harder than all my ace of spades. Ace of spades sometimes simply happen, when the stars aligne.

I got mine years ago on Forest Colony Snow with an Atlas. I know it's not a huge map, but for whatever reason it took me a while to get across the map. When I did, I basically just mopped up a bunch of damaged mechs. I just got lucky. It was almost certainly the DC variant of the mech with an AC-20 and SRMs.

I always wondered is Ace of Spades easier to get in FP?
I have been scraping past the achievment in QP so many times. Especially in the last 3 weeks.
A few days ago I got to 7 and a week ago I was about to get my 8th kill but the enemy was killed by a team mate a split second before I could fire.
Also how many people made it to death star?

ive filled up my kill board a couple times and didnt get anything. but i doubt that was with one mech. i almost always used most of them as an unused mech is a wasted mech.

Deathstar was achievable when the game went through serious connection problems, you could end up being the only player in the game. I would say that nobody has ever gotten it without some sort of game issue.

Old thread, but still valid. And kill stealing (or mopping up leftovers) is the way to earn it. The second time I earned Ace of Spades was Loooooong ago when I was the last one standing and mopped up the rest of the enemy team with a Spider on canyon network. (Which tells you how damaged they all were and how long ago it was, a freaking spider.)

Not necessarily, some months ago I managed 7 legit kills in an SRM Wolverine 7K and the 8th was close but someone else got the killing blow. I out-brawled everyone, I didn't hide or mop up kills. I also managed 7 in an Awesome 9M on Rubellite by accidentally falling behind the enemy. Yesterday I got 6 in a 3 LPL 12 Micro Executioner and a seventh would have happened but ST loss on one mech caused it to suicide by heat. I did manage 8 kills a few days ago in an LB20-X/Micro/SPL Executioner, but it was on an alt and the enemy came at me one or two at a time into close range. Mostly though, I find high kill games happen due to massive opponent error. In every example I listed, I got maybe 4 kills "naturally" and 4 more from coming up behind players who weren't paying attention. When I see players get a high kill count, they aren't usually scavenging for last hits, they are in good positions smashing out massive damage very, very fast.

Both are true. Scavenging kills gets the job done, but turning a flank and exploiting the red team's mistake is just SO gratifying as you've pointed out! I keep playing my trusty Highlander 733P because I did that once, walking down the enemy flank from the rear and just catching them flatfooted, a legit 9 kill match with 1400 damage. Once. But still. Back when Highlanders were the cool kids in town. I couldn't get the P to work for me, it was a bit difficult for some reason. I used to do an AC-20 and 2 PPCs on the C. Oh man, remember when 40 damage with 1 jump jet was solid?

post your aos builds.

after many many games and years of play, i got my ace today with this:

SNV-A

now show me yours.

How do you handle the heat of 4 PPC and all those Srms i tried a fully skilled warhark with 4 PPC firing 2 at a time and was constantly over heating even being careful.. Clan PPCs firing 2 fully heat sinked out put me over half heat a volley.

Ahh never mind its a necro thread..

Dark side of necro threads, what worked then may not work now.

Got mine with quad SRM-4 Assassin bomber I generally run, 8 hours before the March 16 2021 patch.

This thread is from mid-2020, so it is not so bad.

Better than some resurrected zombie from 2014 or 2015. Posted Image
